Pat Summit. The myth, the legend. What more can I say. As a lifelong Tennessean 10 years later I still get cold chills watching your grace and dignity. You made men want to watch women’s sports, and somehow you always still, made your accolades about your family, your friends, your Rocky Top Family. It was never about Pat, but it was always about Pat simultaneously. You will never be forgotten, and your spirit is enshrined in these Smokey blue hills. I love you Pat!

Being from Tennessee (Memphis), I grew up watching her. Now about to begin my path (in Pedagogy), I personally want to thank you Mrs./Coach Pat Summit. Your grit, toughness, knowledge of the game, approach, Kindness, love, and so much more. I study her and truly admire her coaching prowess, simply the best...no words can express this...what I would give to be a fly on the wall at one of her impactful speeches. The greatest coach of all time. She was the epitome of grace, strength, mental toughness and the ability to bring out the best in each and every player. She continued to be humble throughout her career. How blessed I have been to live in this era to witness the greatness of this wonderful woman. She came to understand her great purpose in life, to be a servant to God and to all the people she touched. God bless you Pat Summitt. I know you are whole once again in the presence of Jesus..
