Of course ESPN needs them. The football world adores Pat and ESPN is facing the negativity of their #1 journalist being confirmed a shill for the league. The sad part is Pat shilling for ESPN now. Pat will shill for anything to help pay that gambling addiction. He's no better than Schefter. Pats just fresher and has no controversy surrounding his name...but hes a shill the same. Watch, in the coming years multiple former players will copy the format Pat has, and it will be evident how much Pat doesn't actually say what he really things, rather what the NFL wants him to think.

@@georgeramirezjr1111 It's a reference to the most ignominious moment in Matt Hasselbeck's career. He was the Packers backup QB, got traded to Seattle, then two years later in 2003, meet his former team in the playoffs. The former Packers coach, Mike Holmgren, was also head coach of the Seahawks. The game itself went into overtime, and the Seahawks win the coin flip. At the time, overtime was sudden death-the first team to score, no matter the method, won the game. Hasselbeck shouted "we want the ball and we're gonna score." This probably wouldn't have been so big a deal if the Seahawks had simply ended up punting and the Packers brought it down and kicked a field goal or even scored a touchdown. But what made this so much more embarrassing is that after that guarantee, after all that bluster and bravado, of wanting to stick it to his old team, on their second drive in overtime, Matt Hasselbeck threw an interception to Al Harris, who returned that sumbitch 50 yards for the winning touchdown. So not only did they not score, but there was the hubris of throwing the pick that ended their season.

ESPN’s failures(and Barstool’s success) as a company boil down to 3 major things. #1. ESPN takes themselves and sports far too seriously. At its core, we’re playing and watching kids games. #2. ESPN has never embraced gambling as it should have years ago. Gambling is why sports are popular. Even its fantasy “experts” and advice are absolute trash, you could watch a random fantasy sports tiktok and probably get better advice than what ESPN is selling you. #3. Cable TV was what made ESPN. Their transition into radio was revolutionary as well. But the move from those mediums to streaming and podcasts have been lackluster and I think they’re seeing big numbers from an aging demographic and losing a lot of steam from the younger, streaming audience.

ESPN has been tanking ever since they decided to go “woke”. They’re drowning and reaching out to any and everyone to help keep them afloat. Pat’s show is way more entertaining.

ESPN has been crap since Disney bought them back in the 90’s or early 2000’s. Whenever it was. They used to document sports. After Disney they became tabloid

Don't worry about them. They are so far in the past it's insane. Love y'all - keep doing what you're doing.
