I was 15 when Nixon left office. I had no Political beliefs, I didn't despise him as my older brother did. In fact, i remember feeling bad for him, and especially his family. The pain and humiliation the Man, and his family endured was incredible.

Watergate was really nothing compared to the man that became president, despite all odds. Pat Nixon was always smart and practical. They deserved that lovely home in San Clemente.

The pda reference to Pat and Richard just shows how the media didn't get it. Some people just don't want to show affection in public ... some people are private

I really wish they would’ve let Pat Nixon speak… after all, this is a segment about her…

@JackChen7003 - 20/20 would've LOVED to have Pat Nixon speak. But once she left the White House she never wanted to do another interview again. She was through. It was a BIG concession on Pat Nixon part to even allow video of her to be taken in this segment. To be clear Pat Nixon was not interested in speaking at all.

Also by this point she'd had one if not both strokes.

Nixon was abominable to Pat Nixon.

@williamhicken1206 - Pat Nixon would disagree - she felt the press was abominable to her, not her husband.
