Philadelphia, USA group with Pat Gordon (lead vocals) The first group made a record for Fast Eddie Records, owned by Camden, NJ record store owner, "Broadway" Eddie Warhoftig. The first late '60s group included: Pat Gordon, James Churchill, Louis Tillson, Michael Cerdan, Richard Taybron (Duke Thompson and Bill Tillson may have also been members at one time). The second line-up was a three man group: Pat Gordon, Richard Johns and Larry Taylor. This group recorded for Gamble in 70s.

Take care our parents are looking at us from heaven 🙏🏽😇

Thanks to You Tube fans in the UK are getting to see these terrific TV performances for the very first time. It's taken more than 50 years but better late than never. So many terrific groups never quite made the big time despite their talent.

I spoke to lead singer Pat Gordon while he was still working at Pierce College, before he departed this earth. He told me there were two different Pat & the Blenders groups, the first group was a five man group who made a record for Fast Eddie Records, owned by Camden, NJ record store owner, "Broadway" Eddie Warhoftig.

Thanks. There's so little information on the net about this group. I would love to know who did the arrangement. That French horn (probably Joe DeAngelis) is beautiful.

This isn't that much help identifying the members but this is what I was told when I inquired about this group. This tune has always been a favorite of mine and I wanted more. A good friend of mine who sang with The Butlers remembered them from the Sigma studios. They used to fill backgrounds, if needed, and they were always there singing when the in house writers would try some stuff out on them before presenting their material to whatever group needed another cut for their album whether it be The Spinners, O'Jays or Temptations.I don't know how they ended up recording"Just Because"but I'm so glad that someone" tossed them a bone "

I am visiting Josie today, and she was showing the video of her late husband Michael D Cerdan, I use to work with Michael at the Childrens Hospital in Wilmington, De. Michael and her was an ideal couple, to be honest I was so jealous of them both, because they were soooo close! She took care of that man, yes she did!!!! Fortunately she married another gentleman, and he treats her like QUEEN!! His Family loves her!!!! Josephine is old fashion as hell, but she gets the man that appreciates her!! She dont take no crap! It was four years before she got married again!!! His name is Angelo spanish and Italian Guy he said , that he wanted to marry her because there are"nt many women out here like her, Josephine was not easy he said(LOL) She is very independent and smart as HELL!!! Angelo said it was 8 months before she invited him to her place, because she did a background check on him, he said usually women would invite him right away!! not Josephine, that is why he said , that he had to keep her(LOL)

Cant get over just how much styles have changed. Not only fashion but how groups would just be out there with no fancy props, lighting or special effects. All about the soul. (And appologies for deleting my Eddie Billups straight after you commented on it but I had just cleaned it and has got rid of all that surface noise on it and YT wont let me post the B4 and after copies to show the difference)

The least talented of all the Philly groups!
@3RDNBZ6 жыл бұрын
You must be from Philly. The self-loathing negativity exposes you. That's why Philly fans have that negative reputation and are known as the only fans that ever booed Santa Claus and pelted him with snowballs back in the 60's. . . . . Hold on, this is unbelievable! Well, not really 'cause this happens to me all the time now and it's called synchronicity . . . . I just looked up at the comment (4 comments back) as I'm writing this and it says that this song was a hit in Philly in Dec. 1968. And so I looked up that Philly/Santa Claus story to confirm it and it's not an urban legend or myth. It really happened. And it was during the Eagles vs. Vikings game at Veterans Stadium on December 15, 1968. . . . . Now that is a Synchronicity for your City of Brotherly Loathe if I ever did see one . . . . Now if you wanna know why I did this, I would have to say "Just Because" . . . .Ya, Phil me?
