Circa 1992, my band at the time got to open for Pat Travers. Having that opportunity, and meeting the guys after the show remains one of the highlights of my music career. Pat and the guys were really nice to us, and it's a great memory.

Such a nice interview! Thank you for that. Thank God, PT is still around. It would be wonderful to see him get the appreciation he deserves as a guitarplayer and composer during his lifetime. Wish he would visit Europe (Germany in particular) again...

Pat Travers is and always will be my guitar hero. Living in Toronto I saw him live several times and was completely blown away. A true living legend, deserves way more recognition than he gets. Hope he gets back up to Toronto soon. 🔥🔥🔥

Love the story behind Snortin Whiskey and Drinking Cocaine. That is freaking hilarious Pat all drunk and high on cocaine flipping the words. IMO the best freakin hard rock song ever written and riff/guitar.

Fan since I was a kid in the late 70's. Had all his albums, then cassettes and then CD's. I am sure Pat wanted to kill me back in the late 80`s. He was doing a gig at The Water Street Station in Torrington, CT. By the time my buddy and I got there I was hammered and I was jumping up and down in front of the stage like a maniac fist pumping and screaming like a drunken fool! haha Between every song I was yelling PLAY STEVIE! PLAY STEVIE! haha What makes it worse, it was the middle of the week and the place was so dead, I was pretty much the only one in front of the stage. It was summer time and the AC wasn't working it was hot as hell in the club so I kept taking off my shirt and the bouncer and waitresses kept coming up to me yelling, Put my damn shirt back on. I still remember the drummer looking at me and rolling his eyes. ha Pat finally had enough and said, here you go, and started playing the intro to Stevie. It was a killer live performance of Stevie. When we left the club, my buddy said, give your fucking keys, you freakin whackO! The next time they played in Hartford I didn't act like a damn drunken fool.

Astrophysics, Pat Travers, you should read my book From The Deep Ocean Above, a real mind blower about The Taurid Meteor Stream and its almost 13 thousand year old tradition of New Year's of Halloween. Love the music, been a big fan since the late 70's and listen at least once a week. I've seen ya in The Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and the Channel in Boston. Follow the orange avatar icon to About, I'll send you a free copy, tell me what you think if you ever read it. Thanks Sally Steele

@@danconroy8293 1976, The Bicentennial, I have that LP along with a number of others, I put them on a flash drive that goes on for hours and hours. Those were the days, eh? I recall back then trying to remember where a head shop was that I had been to once before, I was driving a friend around that town years later and he wanted to go there, found it once again. Mater of fact that was the same guy I ran into in O'Hare, what are the odds? Got stuck in the blizzard of 1978, trying to outrun it, in Bloomington IL for a week, back then also. Whole different world now, had to jet set big time once again not long ago and there were no signs or clocks in airports, must be some ap that give the drones direction, people don't even know the Cardinal Directions anymore, like they don't even know which way the Sun rises...

When you think of late 70s, early 80s hard rock, Pat Travers set the standard for hard rock guitar over and above all the metal bands of that time, which is kind of amazing considering he only had 2 hit songs. Pat said something very important in this interview: when he tries to make good music no one appreciates it. When he is just goofing around with off the wall ideas he makes hits. He should really come to terms with the idea that most all of his music comes off as bland filler (not bad music, very high quality, but still bland). He should stop being a solo artist, find a band to work with and write music with. I listened to his latest album time travel, it sounds exactly the same as his old stuff, which is still very good quality wise, he is rocking just as hard at 70 as he did at 25. So he could be as big a star now as I was in the 70s if he could just write a few more hit songs. The only way he'll do that is if he co-writes songs because he is just sort of stuck in rut. Its not a bad rut, he rocks hard as ever, but its just not hit material. If anyone is offended by me suggesting that Pat no longer be a solo artist, Id like to point out that in another interview that Pat said it was his original intention was to form a band when he went to england. He couldnt find anyone who wanted to be in a band with him so ended up being a solo artist. I know exactly which artists that Pat should form a band with. I would be glad to tell him if he asked me.

I just found out about Pat from Paul Gilberts interview on Beato. Wow what an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Its such a shame he doesn't get mainstream exposure....for the last 30 years no one has gotten exposure except for the psyops and now multiple generations don't even know what music is...they stream rap and techno created by AI...ur only as good as the music u listen to
