The lifesteal trade from worse for sustaining but better for teamfights seem like a trade for Hades and Anubis, who were usually reliant on minions to sustain themselves but in a teamfight they would die quickly, I personally think this is a good change meaning Hades and Anubis can stay in the fight for longer without annoyingly having to constantly retreat for a quick minion lane to heal up before going back in.

Yeah it felt very strange after the healing changes for lifestealing gods to be able to sustain so well in PvE. This change makes anti heal more necessary than ever but it's always been quite necessary so it won't feel that different playing against lifesteal. Will be very interesting time though, poke damage might finally properly matter. Some gods got crazy increases to their in kit lifesteal too so we better watch out for those characters like Vamana and pele. Unfortunately for a lot of them though ADCs got a crazy anti healing/shield effect on a fucking exe glyph AND an insane DB glyph...

Just played my first game of the season… I find the relic stacking to be a bit off for my taste. I would personally suggest that Hi-Rez changes it so that, instead of upgrading the relic outright (thus being useless if you upgrade it would of pocket anyway), you simply get the equivalent gold back to spend as you wish.

I'll be honest, cause I've had this thought ever since I started playing Whale, 25% isn't enough of a nerf. He needs to be at 20%. 25% of 500 prots (cause let's be honest, even in solo people are mostly building full defense) is is still 125, which when added to his 1 giving him ANOTHER 60 prots at max rank, makes it go up to about 140-150 depending on item effects, consumables, passives, etc. Meaning his autos are usually hitting for about 130-150 after everything, which is almost 10% of a squishies health for each auto. 20% won't get rid of his insane damage, sure, but it'd at least be manageable. Of course I'm willing to wait to see how 25% Bake goes, but I feel like he'll still be pretty busted even with this nerf

I think I do like some of the relic changes. Not big on the free evolution but I don't mind it. I also don't mind them getting rid of the options. To be honest I've only seen certain ones being picked up. The only one I regularly saw being different was Shell and that was based off of if there was an Odin in the game. It sucks that choices are gone. I honestly do like the class passive being removed though I do think for a while it won't feel good, especially Mages the free power really spoiled some people.

As someone who's trying to get into Smite, I think the relics losing the choices is a really smart thing to do. I'd pretty much have to sit in fountain and read what each tier of relic did before committing to one because while having what's basically Smite's version of a Zhonya's Hourglass sounds good in theory, it might not be as good as some other options and its two evolutions meant I had to sit there and debate the situational utility to an item I was probably going to forget how to use twenty seconds after I left base. Having only one streamlined upgrade and giving them the ability to evolve rather than having to remember to buy them, makes them easier to manage for new players like myself. It's a balance between keeping the usefulness of the items and the complexities of strategy, while also making sure to cater to new players that are already turned off by having to read six and a half paragraphs every time they load up a match.

Man I was really hoping this would be my patch and you would say something like "buff to the damage on Scylla's 2 or Scylla's 2 applys a dot for true damge scaling with 80% of her magical power for 10s and crits ,oh and vampiric shroud now gives all abilities 80% true damage and life steals for 70% of the damage delt lol....id also settle for any kind of rework to xbals ult

Does that mean global ults with the teleporter will be better or worse. Better because Athena can step through and help solo then immediately ult away? Or worse because adc and support can tp over and kill solo and just back and go back to lane. Chernobog can step through gank and ult back to lane without missing any xp. Same for Apollo. Tp and ult back or ult and tp back. Gonna be interesting

That varies since you get a 2 minute cooldown per use. It be foolish to burn a teleport to fail a gank and your lane farm suffers for it.

New to the game How do you know what items to purchase?

When you 1st start, it's very difficult to know what's an ideal build. I stopped playing for 3 years and tried getting back in and came to the same issue. I recommend taking the time to sit and read every item then watching some videos of people playing a God you want to play and try to work out why they chose the items they did(sometimes content creators will explain their decisions as they make them). Most of the time you're gonna run the same items on that character with 1 or 2 situational items that are match-up dependant (ex. getting anti-heal for teams that heal a lot) builds are more important when you start playing in higher level games but as a brand new player your focus should be on positioning, rotations, and map awareness. Master those 3 things and you'll be ahead of half the player base. Build knowledge will come with time.

it depends largely on what role(s) you plan on playing. IE Supports generally build the protection aura items (Prophetic Cloak, Gauntlet of Thebes, Sovereignty, Heartward Amulet) then usually War Flag or Heroism from the Starter item and Gladiator Shield or Pestilence as the last item.

do a few bot games, or dick around in jungle practice with gods you played before. ALOT of gods have been added (currently 129 Gods with the 130th god coming soon)

Word I haven't played in a few years, it's been rough coming back to the game, what I did which I'll recommend to you is just watch some videos, pick the gods you've been most comfortable with or since it's been 9 years pick from what a recommended list for "newbies" look up some guides and just naturally get back into the flow, start with playing Arena also, that's what my friend and I did...he hasn't played the game much longer than I have too lol

Also when you start playing Conquest just hope you get someone on your team who knows what they are doing, tell them you haven't played in 9 years and someone will help you get through the game I'm sure lol and then add them after maybe you'll make some new friends who will really get you in the groove and dopamine rush of playing conquest

Way quicker to go through ur custom build page if u have everything needed than look through all items or sorting it by a particular stat. Saves a couple seconds each time I go to fountain which adds up. Also some new players just look up or ask for builds so removing a custom build page, auto buy, or the basic trash build u get when u dont make a build with auto-buy wouldnt necessarily help new players. Played other mobas with no auto buy or custom build and there r issues on either side for people.

build Spectral Armor...the Auras overlap effectively turning crits into normal damage (unlike Pestilence which specifies its aura doesn't stack, Spectral has no such wording) 2 people (support and solo) with Spectral almost completely counteracts crit.
