Look where all of our dogs have brought us together... here... watching by far the most simple carpet repair tutorial on KZbin. Not going to lie, I was livid at first but puppies will be puppies. This is a chance to learn a new skill lol

Great tutorial; thank you for this. I have to say, though: that is the most gnarly looking carpet I’ve ever seen.

This is such a common need that it deserves a dedicated video. Patching an edge lined with tack strips is a bit different. For one, what you remove won't be a perfect template.

Fantastic tutorial video! Clear ad concise and great instructions. I know this video was made years ago. I’m crossing my fingers that you’re still active on KZbin. But I have a question: will this tape hold up to carpet washing/ running those rental carpet cleaning machines over it?

I prefer to steam it after with an iron over a damp rag. It secures it better.

I burnt a huge hole in my carpet with a Solder gun while I was busy building a new home for my rat... Smoke everywhere!!! & This is an apartment so ya.... Just glad I found it before there was a huge fire... It was moments away tho I'm sure. Thnx for this video tho! Great way to fix it(:

Only one problem with this is you cannot "trace" the old cut out piece on to the new piece the way you are doing it because the nap on the new piece will be backwards.
@renehoustontx29812 жыл бұрын
There's a million ways to go about that tho to make it not backwards....

closet carpet looked dirty than the main carpet. Wouldn't you want to run a pen between to fibers to establish a good row to cut?

Looks good considering what you have but I would suggest row finding with a pen over the straight edge. You wouldn’t have that line on the right of the repair where fibers pulled out

I don't know, I can pretty easily tell where the patch is. Looks like a patch if I were to walk into the room.
@Michael-osas3 жыл бұрын
You can obviously tell because the carpet in the wardrobe he used has not been walked on. Hes working with what he has. I hope that helps you.

Will two-sided tape work instead of seam tape?
@D.I.Y._All-in-One8 жыл бұрын
Not very well and won't last unfortunately. Seam tape is thin and really flexible so it adheres to all the contours well for good adhesion

You should never cut the yarns, on top, with a knife. Arrrg. Hack job. Follow a row, and use a seam cutting tool

Any major hardware store should have it. If there is no stores by you can order it online at Home Depot.
