Awesome indeed, very well done, I like to pre coat all of my materials, anything touching the ground I coat in truck bed " paint",even the planks for flooring underneath, stud walls, everything 1st. Since this is done staining included ,after full assembly, it's minor touch ups. No bending, spilling, making messes, all the wood is coated and done. It's just the way I do things, everyone's different.

😮yes lucky! Similarly my friends and I used to meet on a circular rocky outcrop on a coastal cliff. We thought it had a solid rock floor, we used to party there and jump up and down on it. We stopped going, but soon after the whole floor collapsed down the cliff! The floor was only probably 1 metre thick of compacted sand!!!

Looks like the cabin is located close to the top of a small hill. Any water under the surface naturally drains to lower areas. Noticed how dry was the soil he was carving out the stairs from? Small amounts of water may collect under the floor in a case of heavy rains or snow melting, but not much and not for long.

It's great work - Russia obviously has the cold . I built a small cabin I'm the scottish highlands..If I would have put it into the ground even with the raise floor that hole dug , would be 3 quarters full of water . It can rain for 2 weeks continuously 24 hours a day for 14 days ... I built mine on stilts - about 1foot ....then basically the same for sides on a raise floor . I put moss in between the gaps . Then I shrink wrapped the whole structure = very quick and easy to add protection and cheap . The wood I used was all storm down trees and old disregarded fence posts over 7ft long for A. The floor B. Main supports ( they are treated ) ..The roof is only 6 beams as it had clear tarp on it to let the light in . The cast iron stove - I would never close the door using it . The door stays open even at -10 ( coldest in highlands ) . With the wood burner on even in -10 I can only wear under pants inside it . The beed is just 4 x large think logs as legs , with a square fence post frame shrink wrapped , then old clothes stretched across the gap in.the rectangle centre to form the mattress = spring ( like a sun or camper bed ) I never used any shop bought wood , no drills etc only 2x axes 1x handsaw abd pair of pliers and of course nails . Cost me about 100 pound in tarpaulin and nails plus himges . I've been in many gale force storms in it .

I would have tried to make the envelope as airtight as possible. Fitting a membrane over the floor joists and linking it to the wall membrane would have helped achieve this.

Only a matter of time until it gets flooded. You can’t dig a hole that deep and not have a system in place for drainage. Otherwise, it’s very cool.
