This is the first in a series of videos where I will be giving an overview of interesting or unusual patches that have appeared on my modular.
PATCH NOTES 1 - Dark Loquelic Drone/Shepard Tone
I discovered these patches while playing with Noise Engineering's Loquelic Iteritas module. I was looking to create some dark cinematic drone swells and found that this module was perfect for the job.
For the drone patch the Loquelic is being patched through the Desmodus Versio tail generator and is being given a trigger and a CV from the Monome - Teletype.
I have provided two patch note diagrams in the video, one with my original patch and an alternative, more generic one for those who might not have exactly the same modules.
The second patch here is exactly the same as the first with the addition of the Music Thing Modular - Mini Drive and another reverb.
The Mini Drive was used both as a distortion and a feedback module putting the extra reverb in the feedback loop. Having done this I realised that I had inadvertently created a kind of Shepard Tone in the sound. This can be heard clearer if the Loquelic is disconnected and the feedback is allowed to continue. This can be heard towards the end of the video.
