Sprocket: Building a CONVERTED TRACTOR to take on the WHOLE game!

Today we're going back to an idea I first played with many moons ago with my Danish tank video! This time, with free build which lets us play around a lot more with the design of this bad boy. Enjoy!

Report on the Emergency Tractor Tank Project. Originally the Tractor Tank was a feat of desperation, though it's inventor no doubt believes it an act of brilliance. In the early days of the invasion a local militia produced the first examples of the armored tractor. Each unit was initially a unique product with various add ons, however there are a few commonalities. Additional armor was welded to the front as well as creating a turret ring and superstructure around the tractor cab an Old Great War era tank turret was then fitted and equipped with a 150mm howitzer. Performance at this point in development was noted to be well above any expectations defeating multiple armored offenses and proving both deadly and survivable. A notable example being during a local counter attack a tractor tank pushed through a minefield (possibly using a dozer blade or sheer dumb luck) catching an enemy command tank unaware and utterly flanking anti tank positions in the area. However losses began to mount and efficiency plummet as opposition tank design continued to advance beyond the capabilities of militia frontline workshops. It was at this point military command folded the militias into the main force and found itself in command of a rather outdated but capable Tractor Tank divison. After a stent of testing the capabilities of the tanks was confirmed as well as serious design flaws. It was found that the latest 150mm howitzers mounted in the vehicles was so powerful if fired 90° perpendicular to the main axis it threatened to topple the vehicle, as well as stressed the armored cab and turret ring. A rapid modernization and homogenization process began in which armor and superstructure was strengthened, transmissions improved and the turret replaced with excess medium turrets currently being produced as well as the 150mm howitzer swapped out for a more manageable and modern 90mm high velocity main gun. The Improved Tractor Tanks were far more capable and proficient in both local defense and local offense operations a notable example being when a single ITT destroyed 5 significantly more capable enemy tanks that were the spearhead of an enemy local offensive.

Thanks for the great video patch! I am excited about the new vids comming this year. I especially like the sprocket gameplay and would like to see the designing process be shown a little more in-depth. For example you could show the main things about the tank (armor thickness speed armament etc.) in between the end of the timelapse and playing the levels if you want to

You may laugh at the New Zealand tank but it was civilian effort and based on the popular and widespread d8 tractor and parts available in a very limiting situation, it never received the 37mm gun so a bren gun took its place. Most of the time tanks supported infantry, very rarely engaging in tank on tank warfare. The Idea of what a tank was supposed to be was still developing and infantry remained the biggest threat to advancing armor. Also partially why the Sherman kept its "inferior" gun as it had superior infantry support capabilities over the antitank guns that could replace it. Old joke of a German tank being capable of killing 5 american tanks to which a captured tank commander replied.. no, a german tank could kill 10 american tanks for a single german.
