Thank you this! Using the Tuck Tape is a great idea! It worked perfectly. Never has a tape stick so well. BTW - I used a sheet of pressure treated plywood just behind the zipper door to help prevent the wind from putting too much pressure on the zipper door. I pounded 2 round metal pipes into the ground and secured one end using U-bolts or mufler clamps. I use bungie cords on the other end to hold the swing end in place. Using the plywood really extends the life of the shelter. Mine is going on 4 years old.

How's she goin'? Thanks so much for the nice comment and suggestion for securing the door. These shelters are some handy but you have to look after them. My Tuck Tape patches are still holding on mine but the canvas skin is just about wore out and has ripped in a bunch more places. I think it's life is over!!! LOL So nice of you to watch and comment. And welcome to the channel., I hope you come back again soon. Take 'er easy!!!

Morning Grampie! That tuff is pretty awesome. I used it on the tarps outside for a few years now and it holds up pretty good - right through the winter. It should work well for you. Thanks for sharing and all the best Mike!

How's she goin'? Glad to hear that GP. The other products I have used all said they would stand up to exterior weather. Wrong!!! The Tuck Tape always seems to stick well to whatever I use it on so it should work here too I thought!!! Thanks for the view and take 'er easy!!!

That shelter is amazing. We bought it at Costco in 2011 for would you believe $149. They had only 3 of them in the aisle selling out! We were planning an outdoor party and I thought we could set it up to use for that and then use it for storage. It isn't one of the easy up models so it didn't get used to for the party but went up later for the tractor. When we went to install it we found out it was only meant for summer use! We decided to put it up anyway and as you can see it is still working - the frame is better than any others I've seen and they all have their tarps deteriorate over time. Hope this tape holds the ends together as unlike the Shelter Logic models you can't buy replacement covers for this one at Canadian Tire!!!

That shelter was and is amazing. The frame is like me, lasts and lasts LOL!!!

Hey Mike. I can't offer any advice about patching a tarp, I've never really had much luck with anything I've tried. Tuck tape is pretty good stuff, I see it used for all sorts of things. Lots of people use it to patch up broken tail lights on their cars lol.

I have no experience with Tuck tape but I wonder if the tape the gas companies use to wrap natural gas lines is available or would work better? I think the best repair is the one someone who has more patience than I have, does. The big question I have is, how could I possibly get my bench cleaned off like you did to actually use it? Oh my that's like the age old question! Have a great one sir!

Awesome Grampie《☆》That method should work. You could also run some stitches thru the patch. I've never had to patch a tarp but I've used Gorilla tape with foam wrap to insulate outdoor plumbing and it seems to hold up pretty well :*: Y'all take er easy🎃🤓☻🤠🎃

Hello there Tony and welcome to the channel!!! I didn't know they outlawed the red tape. I have used a ton of it when building the camp. I taped all the house wrap with it. I really like it and it sticks some good. It's been a couple of years since I made these repairs and there are holes in the tarp again, but not where I taped them up!! I thought about tuck tape but my wife laughed. Let's try it.
@GrampiesWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
How's she goin'? Great to have you commenting here on the channel John!! I tried Duct Tape one time and it sort of crumbled and went away. The Tuck Tape is standing up really well. It's UV proof and sticks like crazy. I just recently took down this piece that I taped and the Tuck Tape was still in great condition but the piece of tarp it was stuck too was all shredded and ripped. So I'd say the Tuck Tape is the answer. It doesn't look real nice but it works!! Thanks for tuning in and take care!!

Hi Amigo Mike. Does it only come in Red? Have a good week ahead
@FromSteelToWood5 жыл бұрын
Not only red now! I was about to write that in a comment. Depending on where you live and the availability of the "Tuck Tape" products, you can find it in Red, Blue, Clear and White. I am not 100% sure if they have the exact same characteristics. I've bought some white tape from the same brand and so far, it seems to work the same. I've found that Rona has Item #000100917 in clear for that purpose (just type the item number in the search box). Then Home Hardware also has the white, item # 2611260.

Hey there Amigo!!! I have only seen it in red. But then again I only bought this tape for vapor barrier and house wrap, so didn't look around for a color selection. It would be nice if it came in other colors and maybe even clear. Thanks for tuning in Pascal and enjoy your weekend !!!
