After Jason practiced with his modular soft synths long enough, he now wants to apply his knowledge with a real modular system. Patching 60s sci-fi sounds, experimenting with effects or going crazy with spring reverb... accompany Jason on his journey to the land of modular

12:02 "I don't know anything that sounds like that" first time I heard it I immediately thought it sounded like the Celeste speaking sound effect

This is a fantastic video, great work! Modular synthesis is one of the most fascinating things that I've seen. There is no end to the variety in sounds it creates and to an extend it's just like having a fully functioning DAW. Congratulations on your creation, it's truly a massive beast with impeccably beautiful sound throughout. if I were to suggest a name, I think 'The Aha-mazing Machine" would be well suited. For one I like the name because your laugh had a great 'aha' to it that truly made my night. The other things great about the word aha to me are not only it's definition but also that it reminds me of the 80's group 'A-ha'. Thanks again for this spectacular showcasing and demonstration. Sorry to ramble a bit there BTW and for being late to the party. ^_^'

Get a clock divider and another mixer for cv, and maybe a resonator like Rings. Then if you are a pedal guy you should probably get the S.B.G from ALM. Later: a small sequencer of sorts as it can be used for modulation and beats etc, and probably a quantizer. Sample and hold is fun to, and so are sequential switches. At this point you probably want another but a bit more advanced filter. Then of course you need more modulation, another VCA and soon a new case : )

Nice! That's some good advice, thank you.... I may well have grab a rings for my personal modular.. it needs to grow! For the time being my Minibrute will have work a the sequencer... //Jason

@@ThomannSynthesizers I was thinking about something like the Ladik S-141 4-step seq - quantized or S-142 4-step seq (4HP) that you can use for beats or sequence or modulate all kinds of other things, maybe even the sequencer in the minibrute. You can use it as a sort of weird lfo. I often use a Mutamix in sequencer mode for modulation and rhythm etc. A bit real estate craving but versatile module, even though it only got three outputs. But go for Rings. Btw, The Creator of Mutable Instruments says about the Red Panda Particle that it is more or less Clouds in pedal format. Just saying because at some point you want either Clouds, Morpagene, Nebulae or some other of the "stranger" modules : ) Take care Jason
