I was a big fan of sewing my locs- mainly because it was quick and convenient. I ve got some crotchet needles now so I m going to try them on any future loc issue- I m.not sure about using the kinky hair tho

So I tried crochet recently and hated it. It basically requires me to break and stress already weak and fragile hair which was no Bueno. But sewing/reinforcing them with synthetic hair has worked well for me!

Right now, I’m using a 0.5 mm crochet needle. I’ve saved popped off ends. So I’m using that hair for weak spots. I have used thread 🧵 in the past

Hiii! Great video. I do kinda wish I could see the sewing process a little more closely. But other than that ‘twas very informative. Now, the question I’m dying to know the answer to: what eye liner do you use?!! Looks so good. 😂

Exactly what brand of kinky hair did you use
@DreaJackee3 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember! I’ve had it for about 8 years and don’t have the original packaging anymore. But I would not recommend it even if I did because it’s pretty low quality. You can use just about any Afro kinky hair! I’d recommend trying to find real human hair so you can have the option to bleach it if you want.

Have the loc repairs unraveled? It’s such an easy fix and I have two locs to repair thin ends from rubber bands I used on them
@DreaJackee5 жыл бұрын
Nope! The first time I washed my hair after putting them in, the extension got a bit loose but went back to form after a couple palm rolls. I’ve done these and they’ve stayed in for years. The only time I took them out was if I wanted to improve how I sewed them into my hair. The patches don’t unravel at all, as long as you sew them into the loc thoroughly.

Thank you for replying. Gonna to repair them this weekend.

Hi Drea, does the thinning loc get thinner later on after it's been patched( repaired)?
@DreaJackee4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Before I answer, I want to emphasize that I'm NOT a pro in any way, so I can only speak from my experience: Yes, this is for sure possible and has happened to me before in my trials and errors. I have noticed that it happened when I didn't "anchor" (sew) the patch into parts of my loc that are "strong" (tightly loc'd together) on BOTH ends. The patch can only be as strong as the parts of the loc it is sewn to. If you're a KZbin person like I am, you're likely a Do-it-yourselfer but it may help to chat with an actual loctician or take a look at come crochet hook repair techniques (I'm exploring those myself right now). Hope that helps!

Afro hair and a crochet needle is all you'll ever need for repairs....
