Patchwork only takes about 20 minutes to play (including set up), don’t quite understand the need for a quicker version.....

The aesthetics of the original Patchwork are far superior. I don't know why they didn't just reuse the cloth patterns from the original game.

Michael Hastriter in the original Patchwork, the game is heavily about manipulating your and your opponent's progress along the score board and through the tiles so you get the 1x1 squares and the tiles you want and your opponent doesn't. With more players, that would be greatly diminished.

I feel like I'm one of the few people that prefer this edition over the original. I can squeeze this one into a short break which I can't do with Patchwork.

This review missed the whole point of the new edition. It’s meant for younger kids. The artwork on the middle game board even looks like it is being marketed toward a younger audience thus the 6+ age recommendation. The original is 8+. Also, it has chunkier pieces and the play is simplified for younger kids. Little kids have shorter attention spans so need quicker gameplay.

This might have been true. But why didn't they call it "Patchwork Junior" or "My First Patchwork" in this case? Would showcase better, at whom it is targeting.

Patchwork doesn't need a children's version. Kids already love the game!

I think it looks like it might be good for disabled people who find it physically easier to use bigger pieces (arthritis, visual impairments), and those with less energy and concentration needed.

People wanted Feast of Odin Express (and cheaper) not patchwork mini. Why does he keep making these kiddie pool deep Tetris games when there’s a lot of room for medium and medium heavy games like this.
