I'm interested in trying this but I don't understand how you wrote the dimensions. Does "8*8 cm 8" mean cut 8 pieces that are 8 cm by 8 cm -- except that you only showed 2 pieces? Does "3*20 cm /8" mean pieces are 3 cm wide by 20.8 cm long? I'm sorry, I just can't figure this out and need some help because for me an asterisk (*) means the same as "by" and the "/" means divide ...

Hi my friend, sorry if I make you confuse,... 3*20/8 means 8 pieces which are 3 x 20 cm rectangles And for others are the same too... Is it clear now?

Hi Diggy! The measurements are metric vs inches .
@digging4rootsАй бұрын
@@Patchworkwithachide Thank you. I understand now.
@PatchworkwithachideАй бұрын
@@jkhegarty857no it's not, the number after " /" is pieces
@jkhegarty857Ай бұрын
. Hello! I rewatched your video. Your measurements are identified in metric, specifically cm, not inches. For non-metric users, they will need to convert the measurements into inches. That is what I tried to explain in previous comments. 😊

Beautiful block. Would love to see it in a quilt. Now to work it out in inches.😮 In UK we do use cm’s and buy in meters, but 99.9% of quilt patterns are designed for the American market, so all my rulers are in inches.

I understand , sorry about that, you can change it, every inch is two and half cm

I would love to know the size of the finished block. I have the perfect batiks to use but some measurements would help greatly in my planning. Thank you for this tutorial.

It's about 40 cm square...I'm sure it would be so beautiful with your batics❤❤❤❤

I find with some of these more confusing patterns, I need to use graft paper and draw them out. I found one that missed a block by half an inch! It's good to see the construction, but make a test block first. Don't cut your main fabric until you are sure of the measurements. And I didn't get the * either. Had to watch several times.
