I know of a few other watch dealers only accepting trade-ins. Not sure how wide-spread it is but, anecdotally, it appears to be a trend. One told me that 4 watches were coming in the door for every 1 that went out, so they just had to start doing trade-ins only. And even if folks do pay cash, I suspect the offer will be disappointing. Brave new world…

I love the Breguet type xx no date Flyback 39mm. A great watch ⌚ from a great brand with a rich history 👏I don't love everything Breguet does but the xx Flyback is a high favorite and the movement is based off the Lemania that's rock solid

I bought that Hublot Big Bang on ceramic bracelet when it first came out. I had a blast with that watch clubbing, and I kept it because it reminds me of all the good times I had with it in my 20s. It is still in my collection and I wear it out when I'm at a boxing event or a party. I now own around a dozen other classier watches, but I'm still not ashamed to have bought or still wear my first party watch. Also, I remember Federico mentioning something about getting back into a Big Bang a while back...

2:55 I LOVE Moser. But if you want to actually read the full date Glashutte Original is the way to go, it is Easley the most legible Perpetual made. Glashutte is also WAY under 25 grand even in gold on the secondary market.

I got a Blancpain, perpetual, moon phase, chronograph and flyback stainless steel, for $14k, An excellent watch, pretty accurate, no issue. Way better than any Rolex or other popular brands

Every year, usually June, Crown and Caliber and Bob's (neither of which I would ever compare to Federico) take a break from buying Rolexes outright, usually for a few weeks. This year, unscrupulous dealers have been screeching Crash! Crash! and the normal seasonal break has gone on a little.longer so they can scoop up a bunch on the cheap from panicked hoarders-turned-sellers. John P. has all the analytics on that no doubt. Hopefully flippers will have get washed out and Rolex inventory, bought at pawn shop prices, will be more exclusively in the hands of Govberg, CRM and Hodinkee, and prices will start going back up and up and up ... The main bottom feeder company is already back to making cash offers on the more sought-after models.
