Love love this video. So clearly explained and demonstrated for the layman! I've been having knee issues since forever. The Dr kept disregarding it so I pushed for an MRI. It was discovered that I have patella Alta as well as a shallow groove. The consultant also noticed that I have internally rotated femurs as well as knock knees and in-toeing 🤦🏾‍♀️. Currently on month 5 of a 9 month physio plan. So far not going well. Trying taping now. Pray for me ❤️

@@ClinicalPhysio thank you. Just watched your taping video. So I don't feel hopeful. Tho my therapist said it would help to push the patella down 🤷🏾‍♀️. The physio also mentioned about getting a knee brace, but didn't recommend which one and there's sooo many different ones out there. I also have flat feet and wear orthotics which cause pain on walking. I'll keep pushing on. I'll get better one day. I'm still in my 30's!

I have patella Alta and have dislocated my left kneecap twice (at 15 and 18) and my right kneecap once, 8 weeks ago at 25 years old. I’m an identical twin and my sister has had no issues with this. She is also slightly shorter than me. I was a breech baby and she was not. Could this be related? Xxx

I have a question... But this is very long winded, i must warn you. From the age of 21 I have had to use crutches - and have just been diagnosed with Patella Alta after 2 and a half years of either being misdiagnosed or having investigations. I was originally diagnosed with a Fatpad Impingement and Patellofemoral cartilage... But after seeing a well-educated surgeon at New Cross Hospital, I was immediately put in to have fresh X-Rays on both legs, and it turns out that the Patella Alta was the main cause for my symptoms and extreme pain, aswell as causing the Fatpad Impingement & Patellofemoral cartilage. Additionally, i am in need of realignment surgery, but am still unsure of where the misalignments are (as noone has informed me as of yet) I hadn't had any injuries beforehand, but i did start having small pains in my teens, that got worse very quickly when I turned 21. I am now 24, waiting for Surgery because my knee caps are at roughly 1.75 & 1.45 (if i remember correctly) And to my question... Is it possible that my condition could get worse whilst I'm waiting for my surgery? The reason i ask is because 2 days ago, I couldn't move my right knee at all without being in extreme pain, & it went limp. It came on suddenly and nothing stood out that pointed to a cause for it. My husband had to help me walk around the house, alongside using my crutch - I have a really high pain threshold, so this was very much out of the ordinary. I am still in a large amount of pain, but now i can move my leg around. All i wish to know is: should i inform my surgeon's secretary? To explain what happened... or will i be wasting their time? I really need help. Thankyou x
