Thanks! If you’re getting started this is a good mic for the price, no doubt! But eventually, if you’re serious about making music, I’d recommend getting a professional vocal mic, some of which aren’t too expensive either. But for now this will be great for you!

It’s pretty decent to be honest! Vocals is really what it’s made for, more than drums or guitar. I use it every week for my podcast and it works great. The gain button on the unit is a nice touch too. Thanks for the sub, I really appreciate it!

Hey Cory! Yes, this mic will do the job. The best way to complement your voice will be to do some work in post with EQ and Comp. But this mic can handle it. If you want something that’s a bit higher quality and own a sound card, check out my review of the Movo VSM-5 I just posted. It’s a solid option too

@@PatFlanigan yeah my bad, I was searching for comparisons between Tonor TC-777 and Q9 and Fifine, what YT does (I was not aware of that) if you click on video as result of such search it automatically adds the additional part of subject to the name of the video. Pretty weird shit, that got me thinking that there is some weird marketing going on. Nah it is just YT doing its thing. Well, perhaps some other users find this comment useful :) During the test I noticed that the pop filter seems not the best (or perhaps is just your strong voice). I wonder if you have the chance to use Fifine K669B or K780 for comparison.

I’ve only ever used the Fifine K6, the Tonor Q9 and some other prototype they sent me. If you’re able to put a bit of extra cash on the side, I highly recommend getting a basic recording kit from Focusrite over any of these other mics...

Hey Sam, is it static or perhaps clipping? Have you tried lowering the gain using the buttons on the mic? Otherwise I’d try with a different cable or USB port. Mic might be defective too!

You can’t connect headphones directly to this mic. You’ll need a computer to connect the mic to via USB, then you plug in your headphones to your mac.

Garageband for sure, considering you have input monitoring turned on. Just make sure to use headphones. Quicktime I don’t think there’s an input monitoring option. I’d use GB over Quicktime to record your voice in any case. It’s far better suited for that and is a great way to learn how to record and mix.

I don’t think this mic would work with an iOS device. It needs a lot of power through USB to function and I don’t think iPhones can output that much power through the Lightning port. I could be wrong, but that’s my gut feeling.

For anyone thinking of getting it, this microphone is NOT good in the long run. It works well for a short period (think two weeks) and then quickly stops working completely. Unless you want to be replacing yours a not long after buying I’d suggest looking at something else.
