Path of Exile 2: New Atmospheric Gameplay (No Commentary)

Today, we have some POE2 content. This is completely new POE2 footage from Exile Meet and a few other sources with unheard music, unseen locations, and of course, monstrous gulps and lurches we've not yet had the pleasure of hearing in full. This Path of Exile 2 gameplay includes the Warrior, the Huntress, the Ranger, the Monk, and the Sorceress. Enjoy.

The animation of the ocean waves coming into the area while you're fighting is SOOOO cool. It add a TON to the atmosphere and the epicness of the feel of the gameplay. I LOVED that.

Especially if you subtract the nostalgia from all previous ones. It’s hard to overshadow the other games when they were the first to do something but PoE 2 is just so much more advanced in many ways.

When the freeze effect ends on a target, it would be sweet if that target was animated as if forcefully breaking out, shattering the ice. Anyway thanks, looks and sounds great!

The animations are amazing! And also the added enemy feedback from hits. I always feel like I am hitting the air when I hit monsters in Poe 1 there is zero to very little feedback

I absolutely love how zoomed out it is. One of my biggest gripes about Diablo IV and to a lesser extent POE is that the camera is zoomed in quite a bit, especially in Diablo. There’s something refreshing about being able to see so much of the environment and see enemies coming before they’re fully in your attack range. I wonder if endgame spells and abilities will cover the screen like in POE or if they’ll be more subdued. I like the flashiness of POE, but I understand if they’re going for more visibility.

seeing warrior ACTUALLY use the shield to parry as an actual MECHANIC just gave me chills. FINALLYYYYYYY. Great gameplay is made up of mechanics and interactions, not just putting points in a skill panel. This was the great flaw of Diablo 4, no combat that feels smart

Careful people will try and convince you that POE2 gameplay is "casual" because it requires a couple of neurons to actually be able to do well instead of turbo cocaine builds that are single button presses as you dash around the map.

Please please please let this be indicative of actual gameplay on release. It looks so fucking amazing. Slow, deliberate, grounded in reality - even with all the fantastical elements. Theres a weight to it. It looks like diablo 5 or last epoch 2. Like, just so far ahead of the current market of arpgs. I hope that they strike a balance in terms of speed and screen clusterfuck. Some builds and characters meant to be fast should ofc be able to get up to crazy attack and movement speeds. But I hope they allow bulkier builds, or maybe casters with huge aoe, to also be slow and fit their own theme. If I want to swing a huge 2handed sword and be a chunky knight in armor, I should be able to be powerful without stacking attack speed to the point that animations just look dumb. That, to me, is POE 1s biggest weakness.

You can really see the effect of WASD movement with the warrior in the beginning. Being able to hold the shield up and push into foes or be able to pull it up and do a quick spin to block an attack. This game is going to be so repayable on its classes alone.

There is a lot of footage where the music isn't the one that is supposed to play at this area. Gameplay from other people show consistant musics in each area, this one doesn't.

Does the music not have chorus moments in it anymore like the first game did? Some of the soundtrack had chorus parts that were really epic and those were my favorite parts. Such as act 3 when your climbing the scepter of God or whatever that level was called when you fight Dominus up top. And the music in that area had awesome chorus parts and guitar parts. Like where is that in the music for this game?? I still enjoy it but I really want some chorus parts and I didn’t hear any. Or any really guitar parts either.
