Reminds me of my ex. Broke up with me because I wasn't "trying hard enough in school or reading enough" I was doing 2 bachelor's degrees at the same time and had honors. I was also only 20 while he was 28 and still in school. If I ever stoped controlling myself, my animal feelings would produce very similar embarassing content. And the "stop texting me" would send me into a spiral. It is hard if you feel like a victim and have some sort of stockholm syndrom so you still love that person even if he or she did so many hurtful things. But hey, I was gaslighted enough to believe I am the abuser first and took me half a year of therapy to get out of that. And that provided me with a needed time to settle.

The first one sounds extremely similar to my abusive narcissistic ex fiance. He proposed to me then hit me and we broke up since the incident. He proceeded to bombard me with emails, messages, voicemails, even on LinkedIn saying how much better he deserved and how I was never going to find someone like him, to begging me asking me for a second chance and he can never move on. A couple months later I found out he proposed to another girl but she rejected him and broke things off with him. He restarted the whole harassment over again, asking me to marry him via new email addresses since I blocked the previous ones he had created. Bragging about how many matches he has on dating apps and how good he is in bed (ps. He wasn’t). Still healing from the traumas and damages he had caused but good to know I’m not alone in this.

I acted like this with a girlfriend once. She hurt me pretty bad and I had low self esteem to begin with. Anyway, there's no excuse for it. I'm not proud of it at all but at the same time I don't regret it because as soon as my emotions settled I reflected on the things I said and that hurt me more than the end of the relationship did. I was so ashamed and embarrassed by it and it was just so out of character for me that I was literally shocked. That moment of being shocked by my own behavior taught me that I had absolutely no control over myself at the moment when I said those things-which further shocked the hell out of me. That was such a profound life lesson and I'm glad I learned it in such a way because with the shame and shock that I felt there was definitely some limbic system encoding taking place. Instead of developing a tendency to want to numb my emotions, I became hyper aware of when my emotions are trying to hijack me and that ended up being one of the most positive breakthroughs I've ever had. Being able to faithfully approach any situation with a 50/50 blend of rationality and emotional care has made me equipped to handle anything and an overall better person. Never shared this with anyone before haha.
