Kendrick won the pulitzer in 2018 for his 2017 album Damn. He was getting praise from the black community and the culture for GKMC and TPAB days. The pulitzer just solidified it. Dr. Dre signed him before GKMC dropped, but the white told us to like him. In all his music kendrick is like fuck the industry and drake is the one song bout Lucian and Universal but kenny is the one white ppl told us to like 😂😂😂 Kenny is out of his deal and currently only has a publishing deal with Universal while drake has the biggest deal at 400mil with them. More over the timed response is a Drake thing. Before Drake and Meek there were NO stipulations on how long someone could take to response. Nas took 3 months to response to Jay Z with ether. Pac isn’t here to speak for himself in either context. The use of his voice or likeness is either disrespectful on both accounts or neither account. You can’t say it’s only disrespectful now because it’s being used in a way Kendrick wouldn’t like. The issue is that there’s this assumption that 2Pac would be a Kendrick fan over Drake and would find it distasteful to diss Kendrick. But no one knows what he would think, but if Snoop Dogg is any indication, he wouldn’t care. Pac is more like Drake anyway. Actor, sensitive rapper, eccentric fashion, and consistently puts out tons of music and beefs with everybody.

Kendrick got permission from 2 Pac Estate to use official records from unreleased interview. It wasn't AI, unlike Drake plus be didn't get permission. Yea it was disrespect to kendrick but also to 2 Pac and his estate.

This is the reason for a power of attorney, a will, an executor, or someone who represents ur estate/ image and likeness. You are basically saying that if a person dies, we can use their image/property in any way that we please regardless of what that person stood from, etc. I work in banking, and I handle cases where estranged family members (long lost cousins etc) come to collect millions in funds and properties. We should just let them have it?????? Because u think paperwork and permission aren't necessary, seeing the person is dead????? Ur image and likeness are the same as wealth, property, and music catalog it's something u worked from nd it should be protected. When u dead, whatever u leave for ur family should be divided and shared with the world. #fuckyourkidsinheritance lmao. Bro, I expected better.

From a legal perspective, not receiving permission from the family is disrespectful. But ultimately, Pac isn’t here to grant permission. Also, the estate isn’t run by his family. So in the end, his likeness is being exploited whether permission is obtained or not.
