If you planning to go Angel mythic then Oracle is the way to go. You will be able to have a horse or wolf as your pet. You can wear heavy armor and also carry two handed weapon for close combact attacks and cast spells like bolt of justice and storm of justice to destroy you enemies and cast mass heal to heal you party and also use several buffs to make your party almost invincible till core difficulty. But the catch is you should know how to build your character. There are several guides in KZbin I advice new players to follow those guides you will have a blast with this game.

While this may seem like a strange statement, thank you for talking about the Purifier and other subclasses of Oracle! It's been extremely hard to find any information on the other Oracle subclasses, as they are basically dismissed and people have told me "just play base Oracle if you don't like Seeker, you have no reason to take the other options". I've been hoping to make a Purifier for my eventual Angel Run of the game, and both the flavor and race combo just seems perfect. Hope you ALSO have a fantastic day good sir 😊

My second playthrough was a Seeker/Angel. Wow! So much power and fun. Started off slow but after Drezen I was pretty much just blowing everything up.

I think, in a way. Oracles are probably one of the most balanced, if boring class+archetype. Like, the class itself is definetly not boring. And I hope we'll get access to the metal mystery (my favorite) in future games. But the archetypes don't do enough to spice the class up, they leave that up to the Mystery and revelation selection.

I 100% agree: the base class is such a full package, making any subclass alteration either too uninteresting because not enough “oomph” (seeker) or sacrifice too much for no good reason (enlightened philosopher/divine herbalist). Would like to see a slightly more front-loaded oracle tbh, but I suspect that would be too strong for splash/dip with CHA to AC mystery.

I love oracle both for gameplay and roleplay. Well mostly for roleplay like having an entity take control of my MC saying things he shouldn't be saying (think of Aloth with his alter ego) or doing or An Oracle cursed by an arch devil for power to rid of the chaotic forces of the demons. The imagination and creativity is bonkers with this class

While this class doesn't inspire any character ideas for me, I'm still glad it exists. I've always liked the idea of a divine caster that is essentially a better defined divine sorcerer. Prior to Wrath the only CRPG to include a class like this was Neverwinter Nights 2, so we've been missing this class type for a WHILE lol

I find Lone Strider an excellent level 1 dip for charisma based melee fighters such as scaled fist monks and i always take scarred-wolf face. The movement speed bonus is superb and the extra bite attack is awesome. I also have a dragon disciple Seelah with a dip to Lone Strider and it worked wonders for me.

I think the biggest problem with Enlightened Philosopher is losing the mystery spells for both your original Mystery and any Mystery picked up through Mythic progression. The Final Revelation hurts a bit too but only towards the end of the game. Losing out on 8 spells known for a spontaneous caster hurts more.

The funny thing about Enlightened Philosopher is that it makes a great Trickster. The Knowledge: World lesser mythic trick is used for everything.

If you choose Angel path, you get the ability through one of the mythic spells to make yourself immune to sickened, thus negating the purifier debuff. Freedom of movement helps with some things other spells do not, but there is no communal version, so it may be limited in your buffing rounds based on available slots of your party members. I like putting it on my MC and healer and also main tank at least if possible. I like the idea of oracle, though Daeran, with his low strength, already means you have to split his focus between healing and ranged/ray casting. Like another person mentioned, you kinda have to have a plan with the oracle if you want to get good value as a primary buffer or spell damage dealer. Clearly, the fire ring and cold ring and lightning bracers will give you plenty of damage spells. Without these or ones from your mystery , the rate of unlocking new spells is rather restrictive. On my angel run as a cleric, it is not until about level 12 that I am even considering swapping Sosiel for Daeran as a party member based on his limited spells for buffs.

Personally on a mechanical level I like Sosiel way more than Daeran. The Domain abilities combined with Domain Zealot are so good in a way Daeran cannot really compete with.

@Slandered Gaming Me too. I am building Daeran as a blaster with lightning focus for my angel run because my main is a Priest of Balance. Even though Daeran gets more spell slots per level than Sosiel, he still falls behind as a buffer because he gets so few spell options per level, something like 4 each, and they come in a very drawn out manner. Also, because of his pitiful strength, you are forced into taking at least 2 feats to make him hit with crossbows where Sosiel has plenty of strength to just glaive all game with ourflank. I agree that Guarded Hearth is needed situationally, at least on Core mode. Sadly, I think I just glitched out my run in Act 3 from some Toybox interaction 🙃.

Seeker is A+, yay! 😊 I chose this along with Bones mystery and Hellbound curse to create my melee lich dexterity build. Also it matches well with a Vivisectionist lvl1 for Mutagen Bonus too. As a result you are a fast, high dexterity lockpicking divine spellcaster who could fill the role of rogue/healer/buffer and even some kind of tank due to high AC thanks to Bone armor ability and shield spell from Alchemist’s book. Also, you become immune to fire damage as via the Hellbound curse and this helps much in a full undead party.

It would be nice to get kind of a mostly non-magic healer just for the class fantasy. Like you're a village healer brewing foul smelling balms in a hut or something. Feel like Divine Herbalist is close to that but kind of only goes half in on the idea. Maybe one where out of combat healing is through the roof and she can buff everyone with sone unique drugs and whatnot. Idk just feel like most of the utility in these games are done through magic which fair enough, it's a high fantasy world, but sometimes I kind of want the more mundane guy that makes it work anyways. The "human fighter" of healing if you will.

I went for Purifier in the story mode because there's something called Alignment Channel in Pathfinder tabletop which I felt would be perfect for a campaign where you just fight demons. Alignment Channel isn't in this game so I felt this would be the closest thing. However, it seems to not work mechanically with *anything* that affects channel energy, which feels really bad. There's no way to scale it except Charisma. It also doesn't seem to work against some evil outsiders for some reason. One good thing I can say at least is that it doesn't damage Arueshalae lol

Enlightened Philosopher - Mental Acuity only goes to +4, despite the description. It is nice as gestalt with an arcane caster based upon Int. Life Oracle is the best healer in the game, in Tabletop too.

I feel like revelations in general are kinda of lack luster. Of course it depends on your mystery but man have 1 or 2 strong effects then the rest are meh. So for me as long as I dont lose the final the others are worthy sacrifices. Like for me with the flames mystery, all you need is burning magic and cinder dance.

I find back row gets hit decently often by enemy arcers at least so those concealment thingies are good for that I suppose. :)

I prefer clerics. The spontaneous casting of spells is good, but I'm so used to the cleric, it's been "my" class since 2nd Edition AD&D. Here with the Crusader Cleric being available (basically a Cleric/Fighter) there's no reason to choose anything else.

there are some really good items the oracle can use like salamanders ring and stormlords resolve that a cleric cant. this and spontaneous casting are the main reasons to go oracle over cleric. also these items are semi bugged and can be abused if you're into that sort of thing (if you have metamagic, you can apply metamagic to the spells these items give you in your spellbook, and then you can remove the items and still retain those spells). its a bit of an exploit but hey, its there for you if you want :) the only edge cleric has in my book are the domains, but oracles mysteries are close in comparison, but not quite as strong as domains.

@@aylictal the only Oracle I've tried out was Daeren - and I dislike that character so much he's hardly in the party. Is an Oracle more viable as a ranged character or melee or both?

@@jezebel8551 daeran has a pretty bad starting spec as channeling is pretty lackluster, but even still, hes an oracle so, lol. you can do martial, nuker, or dc caster on an oracle, but given that oracles get level 9 spells the same as cleric, i'm more inclined to say go nuker or dc caster on them.

@@jezebel8551 oh one additional thing one of the main reasons oracles make very strong candidates for nukers is that they get medium armor and shield proficiencies, something a sorc or wizard doesnt start with. therefore, you can use items like coldbite shield and hide of elemental carnage. google them if you dont know what they do. dont let that detract you from going DC spec though, you get greater command at level 5 spell casting and thats one of the strongest cc abilities in the game rivaled only by mass icy prison (which also you could grab if you wanted, with a loremaster dip). as a DC caster oracle, the power curve leans heavily in favor of enchantment. the other lines can work (like evocation or necromancy in terms of CC capabilities), but their curve is different favoring the very late. If you're playing in unfair, you need all the power you can get early and I'd recommend enchantment over the other schools for a DC oracle. but yeah i'd choose one or the other, either make him into a blaster with an xblood dip and go cold damage, or just go pure oracle and take expanded arsenal enchantment and stack the hell out of spell focuses on the other lines to boost enchantment, either build is very solid on an oracle.

oracle is the best casting class in the game. no joke its the strongest caster i've made with both angel or azata that a sorcerer or wizard wishes he could be as strong. the only thing he cant be as powerful as is a lich if thats your thing. seeker for even more power over the base oracle for a caster. i dont know how you didn't rank this as S++++. it really is that strong.

I think Oracle's are great but honestly I don't like them as much as Clerics. Sosiel over Daeran all day for me personally.

@@SlanderedGaming if we're comparing companions, sure sosiel has a bit better of a build. but if we're ranking the classes from level 1 with full optimization, oracle still has it over cleric for a number of reasons. the majority of neoseeker unfair builds focus on oracle over cleric for a variety of reasons, but its too much to discuss in a single youtube response and just say i respectfully disagree with you.

While I agree Oracle is unquestionably strong, I think the class in itself is being carried a little bit by angel merging mechanics, similar to their arcane counterpart, the Sorcerers being carried a little by Lich mythic. Definitely A, I’d even argue A+ with its build flexibility, but that flexibility is pretty much over the moment you stop building and actually playing imo. I can definitely see arguments for it to not be as S by itself, unlike Crusader or Ecclesitheurge, which are strong even without angel mechanics helping it out.

Yup like Klod said it's S level with Angel but without Angel I wouldn't put it higher than A+ max. Also I don't do the rankings based on how they mesh with Mythic paths.

Basically every other caster in the game is one because they choose to go after that way of life. Oracles and Sorcerers are innately linked with their magical abilities, usually born that way. Both of the Seeker archetypes are about enhancing the magic abilities that come naturally to them. In lore, they both want to find out more about their gifts, possibly why they have them, or what it can mean for their future.

they're both kinda similar in that they trade their inherent abilities (bloodline things or revelation things) for more feats. i honestly wish there were more seeker types, perhaps a cleric that would trade one of his two domains for 3 additional feats (i mean crusader ALMOST does this, but his feats are limited to weapon stuff).

In single player game more is valuable the role playing element but not the classes strenght. If iwant to go through story as herbalist-oracle-witch i will do it no matter for reason that it weak.
