My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article kzbin.infoUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

What the hell is with the comment section here, are businesses so desperate to promote their sketchy diabetes treatments? This is the first time ever on KZbin that I've seen so many obvious ads in the comment section at once. Thanks for this video! It helped me remember the basics of diabetes again and now I'm fit to go into the details.

Glucose entry into liver is insulin-independent via GLUT2. Insulin supports the metabolism of glucose, however, for storage as glycogen. A small but very important nuance.

This is a very good and clear explanation of diabetes. Thank you for making it!

Glucose isn't stored in the liver, it has to be converted into glycogen for it to actually be stored

Type 2 diabetes, even in it's early stages does have some level of pancreatic disfunction, there is a period of time when insulin secretion is extremely high (some people can't do this), by the time blood glucose rises significantly, the pancreas has already lost it full ability to produce insulin, type 2 diabetics usually (not always) do have a pancreas that produces more insulin than a metabolically healthy person, but not as much as prediabetic.

what is it called when u have acceptable blood sugar levels but your A1C is too high or reversed, is their a name for when they contradict each other?
@casti97
@casti97 8 жыл бұрын
A1C shows the "average" of blood sugar your body has had to handle in the last three months from when you take ir. if the blood sugar levels are taken at different time from de A1C it may not represent it, or they may "contradict" each other. your blood sugar may be acceptable, because of recent exercise or better diet than the past months.

You won’t find any explanations of the cause of insulin resistance here except the hat theory! Maybe hat should be fat. Known since the 1920s and sadly ignored.
