PathPilot Quick Tip - Windows 10 Network Setup and G-Code Share

PathPilot does everything it can to make your life easier. One of its most convenient features is the ability to transfer files over a network, either wired or wirelessly. Once this is setup, you can stop going back-and-forth with those USB drives every time you want to transfer a file. To do this, John Wallner, explains how to setup the network interface card (NIC) to connect to the internet. Then he explains how to connect to the a shared folder on Windows to connect directly to the share folder your PathPilot mill.

This, is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Greatly appreciate this! I called and asked Tormach, if this was possible, instead of having to transfer somewhat confidential files through Pathpilot online, as I have a few designs I can't really lose control of.. Anyways, they told me there's no way to do it during a couple support calls. Well, this fixed it brilliantly. I thought about mapping it over using older DOS command, but didn't know it was this easy.. So glad you made this video, because it was a 2 second thing.. appreciate you.

I have a question: are you using a laptop or desktop computer with windows 10 or Linux as your operating system? If you are using Linux OS, then what is the difference between Linux OS and Linux CNC? Is PathPilot specifically designed to run on Linux? Needless to say, I am quite confused as I am trying to get a new 15L Tormach lathe running. It has a ultra compact Gigabyte Brix computer that's giving me more trouble than its worth. It came with a tiny CD disc driver yet the instructions say nothing of it. The spec manual says that it can run either Window 7 or 8.x but I thought the lathe is suppose to run on Linux. This has turned into a nightmare as I'm trying to get this stupid tiny computer to connect to the wireless wifi with another stupid Gris wireless Wifi module. The bios says it's running Win 7 but as I understand it, it's not suppose to even though I already machined my first part. Machining is not my problem. It's trying to connect to the wifi.
