This happened to my great aunt and she lost sight in her eye suddenly while hanging her wash. Since she lived alone she yelled for her neighbor outside with her little ones and saw the Dr straight away. So when it happened on the other eye she called her son and saw the Dr so sees now.

I’m in the USA and watching the lady with the eye condition, I cannot fathom a doctor who examines a patient and then personally dials a phone and calls the office he’s referring you to and gives a brief overview of the exam. Over here you’ll first be sent to a very expensive imaging or diagnostic test, meanwhile you’re waiting for the specialist doc’s office to call… you might get a call in a week to set the appointment, and even then you’ll wait another 2 weeks to be seen (or more depending on your ailment). All the while you’re praying your insurance will cover some of the cost and that’s if you’re a person who is fortunate enough to even have insurance. 😢

While what you said is mostly true, when it comes to eye conditions like that, they don't mess around. If they suspect a detached retina, for example the eye clinic will absolutely see you that day. Agree about everything else though. I had a mole taken off my shoulder, and it took a visit to my primary care doctor who referred me to a surgeon, whom I couldn't see until about a month later. Then the surgeon only looked at the damn thing before scheduling the procedure another 2 or 3 weeks out... It's since grown back, but I haven't wanted to deal with the BS of waiting around and multiple trips to get it hacked off again. I do think it's wild that these doctors often appear to just do the surgery the same day. Though I do suspect these people had a consultation beforehand in some cases, like the vasectomy

Eczema in kids? Desiten crème, (May go by other names elsewhere.) No soap, limit baths, when bathing, cool water, no soap at all, oatmeal bath powder in water. Pat dry. Remain with area uncovered until completely dry, then cover with cotton or wool, no polyester or artificial fibers as they induce sweating. If infection develops, see your nurse or doctor. Oral and/or ointment antibiotic may be needed. As condition resolves, use Basis soap in lukewarm to cool water. Avoid overbathing.

In the United States doctors a HMOs ( health maintenance organizations won't treat things like cysts with proper surgery. They might drain one but unless you have skin cancer they just expect you to live with whatever you have. They will prescribe creams but I have found that they expect you to pay for lumps and bumps privately. We get such lousy care compared to Brittish NHS.

Awwww that DR with the eye patient (the old lady) he is so caring how sweet we don’t have doctors like that in Melbourne Australia. With me and my complex health issues LupusSLE, Fibromyalgia, slipped disk and their pain management is poor we have to suffer like Animals 😢 and they accuse under 35s of addiction when they have multiple health issues that that’s what Lupus SLE does, and being in a public taxi 🚖 car accident and something silly that made my back worse. I’ve been wanting to move to the UK from Australia I will definitely try also same systems like NDIS etc disability pension and closer to where my other Nationality (dads) Algerian mum r.I.p is Aboriginal Australian and I’m born in Australia

It's hard to tell when you have drug users like Marc as to whether they're there to see you for drugs or because they actually have a problem physically. People don't realize, or really care to realize, that drug users are notoriously horrible caretakers to themselves and therefore, suffer a lot of ailments.

Could also be a funding thing. Most insurance companies here won't pay to reverse it. I'd be surprised if the NHS will, if having an apparently benign mole taken off is considered cosmetic.

Are immigrants being screened for TB and other communicable diseases before they're allowed entry ?
@kikkd
@kikkd Жыл бұрын
UK Visas require TB screening - x-ray for high risk countries, and sputum test if the xray shows lung issues. It's not definitive though. If you have early TB it can get through. Lots of people are also contracting TB through tourism these days and bringing it back to the UK

Weird to see an ambulance being called for someone several years younger than I am for a heart rate of 124. I do a literal ton of lifting / carrying at my job, so mine runs130-160 at least 5 of the 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and that's on a double dose of beta-blockers to slow it. After decades of long hours on my feet I have developed degenerative osteoarthritis in my C-2 & C-3 vertebra, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, 7 herniated discs, double sciatica, mild scoliosis, and near-constant back spasms because of all the nerve compression, so I too smoke the green in the evenings, because it works as well as my doctor prescribed muscle relaxer, but without all the next day grogginess. And I've got 15 more years of work ahead of me... All I can think is lucky stiff. I'd trade him in a minute if I could take my cat with me, but my job would likely kill him on the first day. 🤔
