Do you have any idea how to assign a single person split activities and use auto-levelling? For example, parts are ordered and are 4 weeks out but will take 2 hours or a week (no fixed time) for follow-up, or the person has to research suppliers and complete the design with a 1 wk offset of start and finish, but otherwise parallel path efforts at 75%/ 25% time (aside from fixed recurring conflicts)? I can't find anything helpful anywhere and you're the only person who's fully demonstrated many of the things that project can do.

Hi Beth. Sadly, I don't have a quick answer for you. I'd be happy to investigate but it won't be timely as I'm at the start of a fairly large move. (My current effort with MSProject is to start looking at MSProject Online and MSProject's integration with Planner to see what opportunities are there).

It is only important that the total allocation of a given resource be less than the total available. It doesn’t matter how many tasks the resource is being used on at a given time.

Another waste of my time since I wanted to learn about MS Project Resource Leveling only to be told at the end to do it manually.

Sorry. You can play with the automated features, they work, but you have to review the choices the AI makes for you and I found you spend more time editing them than I do if I do it manually. This is likely biased based on the size and nature of projects I’ve worked on.
