#PATOLI/ PATOLEO are#traditional sweet prepared by using #turmeric leaf as a covering which is steamed gives a very good flavor to it.
In #Goa Patoleo are usually made for St. John Baptist Feast, Assumptions of Mother Mary, Ganesh Chaturti and Nagpanchami.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of par boiled rice
1 cup of soft jackfruit bulbs
1 1/2 cup of fresh grated coconut
1 cup cane jaggery
1/2 cup palm Jaggery
1 tsp of cardamon powder
salt to taste
IMPORTANT TIPS
-Using jackfruit bulbs is optional but it surely enhances the flavour of patoleo. My mother always uses jackfruit and I'm so used to that flavor. you too try it once.
-If you don't have turmeric leaves cut baking paper into leaf shape. grease it on one side and on it spread the PATOLI dough and continue the recipe.
For turmeric aroma put few pieces of fresh turmeric roots into the water while steaming.
-If you don't have par boiled rice you can use any
other white raw rice.
