First form review, hats off to him for carrying the briefcase in the reach back. I tried that last year but abandoned it. Definitely saw the benefit but I couldn't produce consistency. I opened my chest, (grip lock result) and had angle integrity issues.

I thought the same thing when I first tried the briefcase but I recently implemented sort of a half-briefcase where I tilt the disc only part of the way (probably between 20-45⁰ depending on how you look at it). You can see my reachback at about 43:10 (it starts out looking like a pretty deep angle but once I'm actually pulling through it's much less). It's been extremely helpful for my nose angle issues and I have found it surprisingly easy to control the hyzer angle (despite reaching back at an anhyzer angle I release at about 15⁰ of hyzer on average). As noted by Josh I'm certainly opening the chest early but that's unrelated to the briefcase for me at least. I do tend to over-rotate my forearm but I'm working on that as well.

@@kevinkevinholt See you pull off what I can't. I need to start with the disc in that 90 degree box at angle to match swing plane otherwise after reach back, it doesn't return to the power pocket the same, or similarly I should say. Yours goes from briefcase to where I would want my disc to return to in the power pocket. Did you start with the briefcase or evolve to it?

@Corrigan65_ I evolved to it, up until a couple weeks ago I was throwing with a pretty flat reachback but I really dislike the "pour the coffee" method of throwing nose-down and was having nose angle problems. I decided I hate pouring the coffee more than I hate briefcasing 😂 so I tried various levels of briefcasing and found some success with it. Now it feels very natural and I don't know if I'd want to go back to holding it flat.

@@kevinkevinholt It's like we... Yeah, I hated locking my wrist on peak reach back. AKA pouring the coffee. For more than one reason. It was spring last year; worked on briefcase in the soccer field. Feels great, looks okay until I go where there's trees, hill slopes and more trees. I could not pull it off. Off the tee pad, I got sick of losing. Particular moments, particular cards, I still want to go back and do them over again. Maybe spring 2025, but my right arm is screaming at me "Are you done, yet?" I need to rest this arm; I'm an old man. But thank you for your insight and showing me how it's done. And sharing your history on that.

@@kevinkevinholt Yeah, unless the boss says flatten it out in a form review; That's a weapon that will serve you well. God knows you worked your ass off to get where it needed to be. 💼

I hope Mikey isn't staging a coup attempt. First form reviews, then it's MikeyThrow disc golf and Josh ends up on the street, living in a cardboard box.
