Amy's voice is what I imagine an angel's voice would sound like. Pure angelic.

I got to see her live last year and I think my soul left my body. When she performed My Immortal, the whole crowd was singing along and she looked like she wanted to cry. It was one of those magical experiences that makes going to concerts worth it.

Ethereal is the perfect word for Amy Lee's voice on these emotional slow ballads. Angelic is another. She has the most amazing voice. The official video for this song is beautiful and spawns great discussions.

This is my favorite Evanescence Song. I have seen probably more than half of the U Tube reactors tear up when they hear this song. It makes me tear up. The song reminds me of the most heartbreaking breakup that I went thru 15 years ago. There isn't a day that I don't think about her.

Amy Lee, truly a gift vocally. It's just one of those songs you want to sing too. When you watch the official, realize as you listen she never touches the ground, she is a ghost that he can't let go of. It's amazing in that context. IMO great material

my Wife and I saw Halestorm when they were the opening band on the main stage at Uproar Fest (2010?). The lights were down, Lzzy walked onstage by herself and belted/screamed and held the first word of "It's not you" with no accompaniment and the whole place went absolutely silent. I think we all just thought, "WTF" at the same time. You had to be there, I can only compare it to what I imagine people feel when they start holy ghostin' in church. I doubt many in the crowd even knew who they were, but a lot of us became instant fans. I 3rd that.

For the "record": "The lyrics of the song refer to a spirit that haunts the memory of a grieving loved one. Similar to several other songs written by [Ben] Moody, the lyrics of the song are based on a short story he had previously written. According to Lee, it was "Ben [Moody]'s song." Moody said that the song talks about "a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone." He also stated in the booklet of Fallen that he dedicated the song to his grandfather, Bill Holcomb. In "My Immortal", Lee expresses her feelings through the line, "Though you're still with me / I've been alone all along.A writer for IGN said that "'My Immortal' is a song of pain and despair caused by the loss of a family member or very close friend and how it drove her [Lee] to the edge of insanity." I'm pretty sure she's getting at with the "My Immoral" line is that she's saying you are gone and I'm trying to move on but you haunt me, you're immoral in an entirely different sense. Like she said she's basically being haunted by this person who she can't have and can't move on from no matter how she tries, its like they're immortal and can't die or be erased or moved on from. A very unique way of thinking about someone being immortal.

They are conducting. And thankfully - it's soothing, reflecting, heartfelt - not violent promoting etc. In my opinion. Yes I know anyone can make anything out of anything. But the crowd is swaying, not beating the **** out of each other. Although I'm sure there are examples of that at any kind of anything that anyone wants to bring to our awareness. It's true though, that there is a power in this, and how you use it, matters. Whether you just wanna do the thing, or not.

@JohnPaul-hm2ys6 ай бұрын
I love her voice - ethereal is a great description. Their song Hello is hauntingly beautiful. As for this song, love it, but it is associated with my long-time (25 years) stalker. When this came out, he told me this is our song. And then told me he bought a lithograph of me that is part of a museum archive, so I can be in his home. I haven't physically seen him in over 20 years, he is harmless to me, but his last message included a picture of my new home off of Google maps - i didn't give him the address. I am just his obsession, and, oddly, I would miss him if he stopped trying to be my mate. When his wife left him because of the obsession, I was a little nervous, but years have passed since then. It's a little creepy, but I guess I learned to live with the little love notes and the yearly gift of heart ornaments. It is part of my most interesting life's journey.

After hearing Dan Vasc’s cover of this song, I cannot listen to any other. He just elevates everything he does so much that the original song is just ordinary. This isn’t bad; it’s just nice and ordinary, and I prefer more than that from my music now. Still a very good reaction, though!
