I look to the movie "Down Periscope" for my at-night quiet signaling.

To control a sneeze, you grab your neck tightly. It goes away.

Im curious about how you handle noise direction in peltorland it’s important to have awareness of the noise level but what about noise direction?
@stephensackreiter826920 күн бұрын
When using peltors you can tell exactly what direction the sound is coming from. At least I can when wearing mine.

I was under the impression that SOF guys receive special breathing technique training to keep their heart rates down in every situation, so that no matter what arises, their heart rate is always low, thus they are always calm cool collected. not reality? is the elevated heart rate inevitable?

We learned tactical breathing on the swat team. Figured tier 1’ers did also.

You’re deep in the AO, sneaking with all the grace of a tactical ninja-squirrel. The night is silent, your movements precise-you're the star of your own action movie. But then, the unthinkable happens. You reach for your weapon to engage, only to hear the hollow, soul-crushing click of a chamber without a mag. Panic sets in. You pat yourself down like a frantic dad looking for his wallet. Where’s the mag? Oh, it’s in your hook-and-loop flap pouch. Of course. The most secure pouch in the universe, designed by the gods of Velcro themselves. Now, you’re stuck in a silent tactical ballet, trying to rip the mag free without alerting the entire AO to your presence. Rip, stop. Rip, stop. The Velcro is screaming like you’re tearing duct tape in a library. You’re sweating bullets (the only kind you’ve got at the moment), praying the enemy isn’t fluent in “Hook-and-Loopese.” Finally, with one last desperate tug, the mag is free. You slap it into the rifle with a triumphant click-clack, heart pounding. Mission saved. Lesson learned. Next time, maybe preload the mag-or at least bring some duct tape for that pouch.

I believe the headphones only block out certain frequencies, no? So talking and other noise will come through. But gunshots won’t.

Yes, but it amplifies the volume of the sounds that you hear (except high frequencies like gun shots), you can turn the volume up or down.

You're not going to find any equipment that these guys use that's not going to break the bank for example just their helmet with their nods and communication for you to get would run you over $60,000... That's just your helmet

Walker razors are great. But you have to buy the Gel cups for them to be wearable for any longer than 10 minutes.
