It’s Gods better judgment to have had Patrice leave us early. This is what we have, this man, nothing less than his best, his peak, his bridge burning ever self. True to himself and to our real animal side. Thank you God for Patrice O neal. May we ever be half as honest. Half is a high enough bar for most “honest” men. He was once in a lifetime. One of his own kind. Unique.

I agree. Fun fact. His lady Von Decarlo wrote a book about his philosophies on relationships. She said when he was passing she played one of his favourite songs. Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon. She said Patrice used to listen to it on repeat singing in the early years of his comedy. During those drives he had the epiphany about who he was. He felt in his mind and his heart that he was the best, that he was a high-level thinker and that comedy needed him. My favourite origin story ever.
