"I volunteer my love to my girl and if she doesn't appreciate it I take my free love away." Partice Oneal was brillant, so many men do things out of obligation and it's not appreciated. It makes men miserable and a shell of themselves, a lot of women don't value that loyalty and devotion so no one is happy.

The most important lesson Patrice has taught me that was a blind spot I could not even articulate to myself is: protect your happiness. I have changed more in the past two months since having listened to all 12 episodes of Black Philip 3 times over and other O&A content than in years of trying. It just clicked when he talked you have to protect your own happiness.
@monikaparmar20613 жыл бұрын
You really hit the nail! Lots of advice given by Patrice comes down to the philosophy (or I maybe origins from it) you just mentioned- "Don't compromise on your happiness". I mean it is really simple and obvious thing people fail to comprehend in their short life they try to please women. Every other advice is just the things he does that to ensure that.
@3v0683 жыл бұрын
I agree. I started to really take patrice's words into consideration for the past couple of months and so far, its been making me money, its been making me more time for myself, its been letting me do what I want despite things holding me back from doing other things I want, and its been FREEING. Its even easier to flirt with women now and to get rejected, and now I don't get so emtotionally invested and its GREAT. Men, listen to patrice. 6:00 - Although I respect his viewpoint, that is not the highest form of love which is unconditional. That is why people get married...because it would be too easy to walk away the minute it becomes difficult or the other person becomes irritating.
@Xeranx4 жыл бұрын
Love is wanting better for the other person. It would be great if it was unconditional, but it isn't. Unconditional is far more likely between parent and child than adults who grew up separate or in the same neighborhood and have their own ideas. Unconditional wanting or wishing of better for another is hard because that person can disappoint you or wrong you, either slightly, egregiously, or intentionally. This is why cordiality is what everyone is owed because you want it in return and that's what allows for the establishment of trust between people and that has the potential to lead to love which can then be either platonic or romantic. So this brings me to Patrice's stance on liking and loving. He says men should want their women to love them and women should want their men to like them. Men generally share and are more prone to love (wish for better for) the other person. So they're more likely to hold themselves to an obligation towards another because their behavior functions on what they think or how they feel about the other. Women want people to share things with them and are more prone to like the other person because of what they get. So there's no keeping a woman around if all she does is like you. What she thinks or how she feels about the other is dependent on said other. She's not involved and therefore not committed.
