The “brownie in my pants” line was not funny, but it was fine, whatever… ONE time. Slamming on the brakes by going to a caller to get praise for the joke and still not getting a laugh the second time is particularly embarrassing to listen to.

My God, every time people are laughing and riffing towards the second half of this video, Opie gets audibly uncomfortable and either takes a phone call or tries to change the subject to something else. He even plays music at the end to end the show, but no one leaves. So instead Norton purposely does a dry/boring read of an ad, until Opie takes the hint and leaves. Then immediately everyone starts being funny again.
