Recording Date: 17 June 1973.
Broadcast: 23 June 1973.
The track is from her debut LP Prelusion which was recorded in 1973/1974.

Ndugu Chancler on drums. Patrice is sounding awesome, for sure very Herbie influenced. What a marvelous touch on the Rhodes. This trio sounds fantastic.. crazy Actual Prooflike groove and some great jazz harmonies and intervallic movements. It kind of contemplates everyone I would dare to say. Also, there used be a trio with Patrice, Ndugu and Stanley Clarke. They recorded an album with some standards reimagined. Pure gold.

I love Patrice so much. I'm such a fanboy for her. I was six months old when she did this according to the date. The Patrice rushen I grew up with was the album cover Patrice with the beads. All the little girls in school used to wear them at that time but I always thought she was the most beautiful thing I've ever saw, even as a little boy. 🥰🥰🥰

Don't think it is... though I thought it was.. I have the original DVD it comes from and the image is a little clearer and it doesn't appear to be him.

@@DurielMoore Yeah Ndugu on the LP but this is from about 6-9 months before I think.. I think Ndugu was already playing with Miles Davis around this time..

I could be wrong but I think it's Buddy Williams on drums here but Ndugu played on the album recording.

Definitely moves like Ndugu. He had a big fro back then too. Buddy did too though. I never saw him play with Patrice. He was in LA for a little bit.
