Fara Marie Justin I know it's hard to not compare your life to others, especially on social media. It's not that easy to just stop. You just have to use those people as motivation to further yourself. Like me for instance, I just secured two jobs, am going to workout to tone up since I'm already naturally thin but want to be more defined, am going to start experimenting with my look through trying different wigs and makeup, and am going to save up for an apartment.

I was going through this subject with my son recently as he has just entered the workforce and it is so important to teach our children the value of managing finances well. I see so many young people spend hideous amounts of money on fashion, cosmetics, entertainment or the latest vehicle, or getting themselves in to credit card debt, while avoiding investing in real estate, superannuation, the stock market or simply saving for the future. You are right, one shouldn't deprive oneself, but you have to make your money work for you in the long term. Sound advice Patricia. You are looking positively radiant with your pregnancy....Thanks and regards. Deb

Great video Patricia! Literally followed all the steps in this over the last few years and now I'm in a good position financially 👏🏼 so happy to have a good credit score now I've almost finished saving for my mortgage deposit. If anyone is looking for a card good card the best thing I had was the virgin balance transfer credit card. I paid off my student overdraft with money from this credit card as it allows a a balance transfer to your bank- and then paid off a student credit card which I had barely used (ended up getting it for travelling one year) and had the full balance on this virgin card. It meant that when I got paid my money was actually in credit in my bank and I could transfer over amounts each money to pay off the credit card balance. 0 interest for 32 months when I joined and I managed to pay it off in that time. There was a very small fee to do the balance transfer to the bank but it was definitely worth it and it feels so good to be putting money into savings now xx

I feel so grateful to my school system because they've implemented personal financial classes, though they are electives I'm glad they are there as a choice to those who want to learn how to manage those things. I've learned how your net worth is calculated, how credit in the U.S. works, filing taxes, how credit cards work, retirement savings/401k's , and just SO MUCH USEFUL STUFF. As a sophomore I urge any teen with any sort of personal finance class available to them in their school to take it because you will be better prepared to take on life after high (secondary) school.
@nypriscilla73269 жыл бұрын
My school also has a personal finance class but every student is required to take it in order to graduate. And even though it's a semester class, it was soooo helpful! I took it sophomore year (in a senior now) and I'm so happy I did. I should've waited until senior year since I actually have a job now and am going to college but I'm happy that I know some things.

I watched this video when it came out and I came back to it today because I've been slacking on my savings. As many other commenters suggested, I think this topic could be a great topic for a series (it could be called "Finance Friday" or something of the like) on a different channel maybe? Someone also mentioned a day event in London (that could expend to other cities and countries - the possibilities are really endless with your ever growing "following"). That would be a great way for people to get good info and for you to monetize yet another project (you may have already thought about all of this but hey, gotta put it out there anyway! lol). Thanks for the great advice and stay Blessed! *A subscriber from Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire

An inspiring video! Even at my age! You've made this subject very accessible to anyone who thinks they might find it 'too complicated'. I've just shared it with my daughter who's only just got her foot on the first rung of the career ladder after graduating from uni last summer. I don't want her to make the same mistakes I made when I was her age. I'm fine, by the way, but I could have been in a much better position if I'd had someone like you around when I was growing up. And I still think it's not too late. Because you're right, Patricia: Managing Your Money isn't an item on the school curriculum, but we are taught, and greatly encouraged by some very sexy advertising, to get into debt. Keep up the good work. I'll be subscribing to your channel 🤗

It is soooo true that you never know how credit will effect your life in the long run. My husband and I THOUGHT we could buy a house this year.
