Here is part 2. This one is pretty important if you are just starting up your electronics. Watch this before you plug in your electronics and keep your finger on the stop button. Also, there are so many issues that can't be fully understood by the movements on a new setup since laser controllers have so many parameters that may cause unpredictable results.

Man KZbin turned of notifications for your channel, but I remembered your channel today because I can't get a skate bearing to sit straight on the 5/16" bolt like the cnc build you did long ago. I spent a while adding shims and split washers to get it straight. I'm making az axis for a 3d printer so the bolt needs to not wobble. Any tricks you can share? Glad to ring the bell on your channel again!

There is a slight tolerance with the skate bearing as the ID is 8mm and the 5/16" bolt is not quite 8mm. You can try an 8mm screw/bolt, or just tighten tight against the inner race of the bearing.

@@PatrickHoodDaniel I tried that but it doesn't help. In fact, even if I add tape around the bolt to make the shaft tight, it goes off angle. I think it's because nuts grip the threads at an angle and the thread closest to the bearing engages first and skews the angle. It's really weird. I always thought nuts gripped perfectly, but try it. They don't.

Did you tried to adjust dirrection and steps by pressing Stop+Shift?
