Patrick, can u explain why the j component is negative? Coz most of the other vids on curls don't explain this. I've always thought that if it were to be a normal kind of cross product, it'll be positive. So something tells me it's not really the case. It'll be great if u could do so. Thanks!

All the det. Of 3 by 3 has a negative J , if you saw a + J . The J will be a negative inside the det. Already . If you really want to know why is - J , you have to go through some linear algebra section.
