I ported my .357 and it now feels like I’m shorting a 9mm. When I bought my shield plus for ccw the one factory feature I wanted was the ported barrel. It really is a game changer.

Would've been fantastic to have worked with you over at Monsoon Tactical on our Genghis Komp design! It works just fine with OEM equipment and does not require tuning. We actually machine a compensator chamber into the bull barrel which is a large improvement in efficiency/performance over standard porting with a counter bore as seen in your video. -Zach at Monsoon Tactical

A little off subject, but I noticed at the beginning of the video when you were shooting and had what I guess was a failure to fire, you hit the bottom of the grip then rack the slide. I see people do that a lot on videos. Pardon my most likely novice question, but I am new to concealed, self defense carry and training and trying to get as much info from experienced people as possible to look up and study.

@@CitizenCarrier it’s what you do for failure to feed or fire

@@TheofficialCostaludus Got it. I know of course racking the slide to extract a round and strip a new one from the mag to chamber it. I was wondering more about hitting the bottom of the grip. I guess it’s to make sure the follower pushes the stack of rounds up in case the spring is sticking from dirt etc. Just my guess. Thanks for answering!

So the trend is Ports now vs comps …. Finally
@Osprey1994 Жыл бұрын
Not really. It's entirely up to the user. Ports have gained some traction thanks to the back boring process that is spreading and allowing people to avoid some of the downsides of porting. Whether you go comped or ported, it's up to you.

@@Osprey1994 I’ve been on ports after so manny comps gave me distractions and didn’t preform as much as you’d think. 2 years ago I decided to buy a off the shelf ported slide and barrels combo.(I do not recommend ) then paid for a porting service, and that’s the ticket. I recommend porting services vs off the shelf port.

Do you have any concerns about bleeding off gasses with the standard porting and how it may reduce velocity and the performance of defense rounds at longer (but feasible for a pistol) distances? Not trying to crap on the product, this is an honest question. I personally don't have much experience with ports or comps on pistols.
@TheofficialCostaludus Жыл бұрын
Anytime you port a gun those are always concerns and it will effect what you said the bigger the port is. That why I look at ejection Then I go up close to a new piece of cardboard and fire the gun close, but not close enough to blow the cardboard apart to look for powder specs

@TheofficialCostaludus Do you think the trade-off is acceptable for a carry or duty gun?

What’re your thoughts on p365 hybrid or single port from cnc as my only carry/home defense gun?
@Constitutionalist1791 Жыл бұрын
Do you have any experience with the radian ramjet and afterburner combo? If so, what are your thoughts on it? From what ive seen, it appears to run without issues with the oem recoil spring and 15 pound recoil spring from radian and all ammo weights. Correct me if im wrong. 🇺🇲

Which do you like better? Slim line port or the hybrid port. Thinking about this on a Cz shadow 2 compact
@TheofficialCostaludus11 ай бұрын
The small ports work good but not as good as the comp depending on how many little ports they are able to put in the barrel.

Patriot CNC is terrible so far from my experience! They’ve had my slide for 7 weeks with little to no communication. They advertise 3-4 weeks. It’s nearly impossible to reach them. I’ve tried everything. At this point I’m just wanting my property back they can keep the money. This was the first time I ever tried to have a gun ported and it was the worst experience ever!!! I’m not even sure I’ll ever try another company again. Things happen but you just don’t go ghost on your customers when you have their property!🤷🏽♂️
