I so appreciate that you reuse what you have instead of purchasing more. The reality that most of us that enjoy decorating can’t just keep buying more 😄 plus I’m sure you love some of your pieces and don’t want to just discard them for new. ❤

It is a good feeling to do it, for sure. I know I can't keep it up. I spent way too much last year. I need to weed things out. The 4th of July bin has a reasonable amount of decor and it is fun to remember when and where I got them. Time goes by so quickly!

Thanks! I had a few scared moments there. I was relieved that it came out okay. I've really been trying to use what I have this year. I've only purchased a few minor things that I actually went looking for. I agree with you that it is more satisfying to use what I have. That's my continued plan. It's so nice to hear from you!

Hi Rozanne! So beautiful! My boys get sad when I even mention scaling back or not decorating for a season so I understand why you decorated for your granddaughters. You have a great collection to shop from so there was no need to go spend money on new things. I agree with you on not cutting floral stems if at all possible! I need to get a commercial door mat like that for winter. I love your grandfather's bench. Y'all will make so many memories this Fourth of July! Thanks for sharing your beautiful porch with us. XO

Thanks, Lesa! Isn't it interesting how the family reacts? At first mine were surprised that I decorated all year round. (I started doing it when the little girls moved in with us.) Now, they expect it. I guess it's fun. That commercial mat is so good. I found mine on Amazon. I painted the bench last summer and the paint was such a good decision. At first, I kind of thought it was a shame to cover up the aged look, but it was so terrible I knew my grandmother would be scandalized by it. It's much nicer now. Hope you have a great 4th!

Hola. I love shuffling old decor into different seasons. Like u said, u forget what u have. Glad u like the Temu greenery. I LOVE babies breath. It looks soo good with the firepics. That’s going to be me - using what I have unless I have a very specific shopping list. I just can’t do it the way I used to. 💸💸 Baby’s breath is so versatile! It saves me over and over. Yeah… I decided I needed to get over being scared of doing voiceovers. Since I never plan ahead when I’m doing stuff, all I can do it say what I was thinking when I did it. Ha! See you soon. 😀😀

Hi there!! I’m glad you did! I love seeing everyone’s Forth of July decor! I’ve actually taken ours down and now I have a blank slate for Fall 😂 Since the 4th is on a weekday and every one in our family has to work, we’re just staying in and following our normal routine. The kids are going to hang out and go do putt putt golf Saturday though so that’s about as much celebrating we’re doing! You’re decorations are beautiful and I enjoyed watching you decorate😊❤

Hi Rozanne! Love your July 4th porch decorations. The arrangement with the rockets and the decorated lantern are beautiful! Your wreath looks awesome too! Sometimes it takes quite the work to get things to look the way you want them to. I know. Last year for July 4th , I decided to make a mesh ribbon wreath to hang on my front door. It was my first mesh wreath I had ever made, and I was nervous about about the ribbons I used. It turned out alright in the end. Love your decorations! ❤

Hi Carlene! Oh- a mesh ribbon wreath sounds pretty. My daughter used to make them and they looked fun. I’m so glad you like how the porch turned out. I guess the experimentation is half the fun. Thanks! I’m so relieved about that wreath. I had no idea what I was going to do when I started. Zero. I wish I could paint that color everywhere. Ha. Yes, they’re happy. My husband told me it’s my best 4th of July porch so far so I guess it’s an example of why I should try to use what I have. Hope you are going to do something fun for the 4th. We’ll probably just hang around here.

Rozanne , your porch decor is really very lovely We painted our door blue too. Yours is very pretty. The wreath you made for your door is very lovely. Last time i hung something up near the front door, a storm took it and smashed it to the ground and it puffed up with the rain, so sadly right now I wont be decorating the front door area lol. Blue doors are for the cool kids. 😉 Too bad about the wind blowing your door decor away. We have cross winds here and there are a lot of things I can’t use. What helps me with my door is those magnet hooks I use to hold the wreaths in. Nothing moves them! If you have a metal door, you ought to check them out. They are so strong I can’t hardly pull the top one (magnet hook) off anymore. I agree with you - God bless America! 🇺🇸

The front door wreath turned out beautiful.. I’m like you I did not buy any 4th of July decor this year and only used what I had. I look at it this way when you bins start getting to heavy to lift you have to much. So I’m thinning out my decor and donating to goodwill. Your porch turn out great. tfs

You're so right about the bins... I bought way too much for fall last year so our local thrift store is going to get some good stuff. I've really gotten so I prefer simplier decor and using what I have unless I have some specific need. My husband would really love to see me cut down on the bins of stuff. Ha!

@@TowardsASimpleLife We have had almost 3 weeks of warmth and sunshine. Thankfully, it’s a bit cooler now. We had a visit down in the borders (between Scotland and England) and it was beautiful.
