"Qual è la Patria tedesca" (o "Cos'è la Patria tedesca" o "Qual è la Patria dei Tedeschi") è una canzone patriottica scritta nel 1813 dal poeta pomerano Ernst Moritz Arndt. Nel 1825 il compositore Heinrich Wilhelm Ludwig Gustav Reichardt compose una nuova melodia che venne preferita alla precedente. La canzone invitava tutte le popolazioni di lingua tedesca all'unificazione in un unico Stato nazionale tedesco.
Successivamente il compositore svizzero-tedesco Joseph Joachim Raff userà la melodia di Reichhardt come un "leitmotif" nella sua Sinfonia № 1 in Re maggiore "An das Vaterland" ("Alla Patria").

"What is the German’s Fatherland?" is a patriotic song written in 1813 by the Pomeranian poet Ernst Moritz Arndt. In 1825 Heinrich Wilhelm Ludwig Gustav Reichardt composed a new and much more popular tune. This song advocated for the unification of the all German speaking people under a whole new German National State.
The Swiss-German composer Joseph Joachim Raff used Reichhardt's tune as a leitmotif in his Symphony No. 1 in D major "An das Vaterland" ("To the Fatherland").

В 1825 году померанский композитор Густав Райхардт, написан новой популярной мелодией для этой песни. В тему была унификацией всех немецкоговориящих народов под одной новой Германской Государственностью.
В 1859-1861 года немецко-швейцарский композитор Йозеф Иоахим Рафф, поставит "Was ist des Deutschen Vaterland" в его Симфонию № 1 «Отчизне» ("An das Vaterland").
