You know I really appreciate this video it's given me a new perspective on saints. I grew up in an extreme pentecostal household so I wasn't really allowed to ask questions about other religious or beliefs. Today I don't classify myself under any religion but I respect and love to learn about others. I always wondered why catholics worship saints and thought about saint Mary. Thank you for the video 👍

Connaissez-vous Saint Alexis d’Ugine ? Non! Pourtant, c’est un saint du siècle passé . Il est venu pour réconforter les ouvriers russes venus y travailler. Il a bâti une chapelle en bois pour y célébrer la Divine Liturgie. Dix ans après sa mort, la commune a déplacé le cimetière. Quand on a ouvert le cercueil de ce saint prêtre, stupeur, son corps était encore intacte, plus de 10 ans après , preuve de sa sainteté méconnue jusque là ! Et ça n’existe pas pour ces mécréants de protestants, ils peuvent allez voir là où il repose maintenant … si on peut ouvrir la cervelle d’un protestant ! Trop d’orgueil chez eux !

Specific saint “veneration” to me takes away too much from the fact that all Christians are saints. I feel like Catholics take that to a whole new level, a saint is whoever they decide it seems

Again, this channel is run by Eastern Orthodox Christians, and we can't speak for Catholics. We believe all Christians are called to be saints, and that the Saints are inspirational examples for us to follow on that path. In Orthodoxy, saints are decided more or less by the Church community together, and its those people we see as good examples of the saints we are all called to be. Similar to how every single male human is 'a man', but we might talk about someone honest, caring, strong, that loves his family as 'a real man'. He's not elevated above being a male, he's being put forward as an example to other men. The Saints are examples to the saints.
