I'm really glad for an Infantry grunt's perspective in this space. While I love the civilian guys like Hop and Brassfacts, their focus on survival as opposed to combat has made it so that most of their setup is basically to support the use of personal defense weapons instead of true offensive capability.

Love your videos! ! ! All the different equipment and stuff I never had in the '70s and '80s. I'm impressed with how well thought out your kit is and that you have multiple redundency on the important items. I use to carry 3 knives of different lengths and types, each for separate uses. Thank you for teaching an old vet new tricks. Thank you for your service and for helping the rest of us.

I've only been out for 6 years and the kit changes are drastic. Probably due to being in artillery so our infantry kit was less of a priority, but the Marine Corps has really modernized.

I drove a jeep for the S4 of a mech infantry battalion. My captain was our navigator and kept local maps of our sector of the German-Czech border, but he always kept them in a map case so he could write on it He'd go into the battalion CP while I monitored the radios, and bring back the case with arrows, dots and the FEBA written on it with a grease pencil. Cold as a witch's tit in the wintertime.

I thought the garmin instinct tactical watches had a stealth mode that would eliminate its emissions signature. Is this not the case in your experience?

I find myself always going back to the mechanics gloves myself. What’s your thoughts on the legacy nomex flight gloves?
@TheGruntPerspective2 жыл бұрын
I’ve actually never used them before but I’ve heard good things about them!
@WeaverMTN2 жыл бұрын
@@TheGruntPerspective yeah they break down pretty fast but they have that fire resistance because of that nomex material. Decent glove but still going back to mechanix for general use.
