Whenever I watch videos of Dimash in concert, I can't believe how calm the audiences seem. They obviously appreciate him, but I think if I ever had the privilege of seeing him live, I'd be hyperventilating and trying to climb on the stage (and I'm probably the same age as his mother lol).

This is a closing concert of Slavic Bazaar. Many people here possibly didn't even know Dimash before this festival (he performed 2 songs in the opening concert). At Dimash's own concerts people are more supportive. The atmosphere is very warm and free no matter where his concert is. But even here at Slavic Bazaar, he made this happen in a way. According to a Dear who were in this festival, Dimash captivated the audience, the connection between him and the listeners was strong. And of course, Dears supported him wildly:) Maybe it can't be seen or heard so well through the screen. How people show emotions publicly varies a lot in different cultures. I've noticed that Russian and Kazakh people tend to be more restrained. However, I like how they really focus on listening. It's very respectful. Maybe they don't show emotions so visibly, not so much shouting or clapping, rarely standing ovations. But I often look at those faces in the audience and see soft gazes and even wet eyes... Maybe I can understand because my own culture is quite restrained too. I know that the emotions inside can still be as strong and deep:) Of course it may be easier to a performer when people are more visibly supportive... Dimash has said that he knows the difference, when he performs in different countries. Some audiences are very loudly supportive, some more restrained. He said that if he can make some audiences smile, he considers it a success. Btw, Dimash has got standing ovations at least two times in Russia: at New Wave 2018 after 'Sinful Passion' and at "The song of the year 2018" after he sang 'Love of Tired Swans'. It really means something when it's so rare.

He comes back to.perform at Slavic Bazaar as a guest most years since he won the Grand Prix here in 2015 , that gave him the kick start he needed to be seen international and it got him into the best University in Kazakhstan. He was here thus year to be a judge and he performed 3 songs here, all amazing performances. ❤
