I want to thank you for having the courage to play this song and video "lives in the balance. Many will NOT play this song or "America" both by Jackson Brown. They don't want "to get political" on here as a reaction to these two songs. yet they are great songs with great messages. It's not political it's truth and we sure need that now.

Jackson is a brilliant singer songwriter. He has a new album out and just released the single "My Cleveland Heart". You should listen to his songs "Doctor My Eyes" and "Late For The Sky", which came out in the 70's.

Jackson always writes great songs; his lyrics can't be beat. The faces, the instruments, and the clothing in this video all looked South American, yet I can't think of anywhere we were at war during the 80's in South America. We are at war, i.e. poking our noses and wasting the lives of our young people, so often that it's hard to keep track. We mark the dates of the beginnings and endings of certain wars. Can we someday have a day commemorating the fact that for one glorious day we were not at war???"" Any day will do.

"I can't think of anywhere we were at war during the 80's in South America." Reagan and the Contras. Ollie North. It's never ended in Central and South America. In the 1970s it was Chile, democratically-elected gov't overthrown by Nixon-Kissinger. And Cheney-G. DUI Bushit did it in Iraq.

I'm much more of a 70's guy, and his older stuff is his best. But this has been my favorite Jackson Browne song from the moment I heard it. I saw him tour the album with a band of South American musicians playing traditional instruments (like in the video). It was delightful. Peace.

Amazing song. Gives you chills if you think about the times we live in. A song recorded 40+ years ago still relevant today. JB is a genius songwriter. Been a fan of his since the early 70's.

So far you are the only one who had the balls to tackle this song. Everyone else sticks to the safe side and reacts to his mainstream hits. Next tackle Steppenwolfs "Monster"

Jackson Browne, was brilliant at righting songs that were thought provoking lyrics, popular songs such as Doctor My Eyes and The Pretender..two of my favorites. However a song he wrote about being on the road, and performing for his fans, and his road crew, and his love for all. *The Load Out and Stay live BBC 1978* He also just pit out a new album and is currently touring with James Taylor, another great. Thanks .PEACE

Jackson Browne (not a group) has been writing and performing great songs since the sixties, and he is still releasing fine music and touring. This song is from the mid-eighties when the US via Reagan was supporting the murderous Contras in Nicaragua who were fighting against the democratically elected government, while torturing and bombing peasants. As this song is about more than this one unjust war, we also see images of Nixon and the Viet Nam War , where a government also sold us a war like cars or Pepsi.

Oh patrol gaming, Jackson brownes music is a rabbit hole you need to stand on the edge of, yell geronimo at the top of your voice and jump... he was great mates with the early eagles, and if I remember correctly cowrote take it easy. Correct me if I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. Try running on empty, doctor my eyes, tender is the night and somebody's baby...

Yes, Jackson Browne co- wrote Take It Easy with The Eagles. And he has kept on being fabulous from the very late 60s, I think, becoming well known throughout the 70s ; Doctor My Eyes was a 70s song,so was The Pretender and The Load Out and Stay and a whole great load of songs. If you care a lot about Third World poverty, listen to The Fuse which is on The Pretender album..JB is as relevant now as he was then. Somebody's Baby was a great pop- influenced song ( IMHO ) and was part of the soundtrack to a movie. He is an extraordinary, brilliant singer/ songwriter who also plays great piano, keyboards and guitar.

Not correct, he started out in the very late 60’s as this song is about Viet Nam, that war was over in the 80’s.
