I grew up in NJ and also lived in PA and FL and I had curly hair that tended to frizz. Then I moved to Arizona and voila! Nice straight hair and no more frizz. I really liked the grey pinwheels because they looked like they were floating on the quilt. But the other colors were all pretty too.

I'd love to see a video on how you put your quilt "sandwich" together to prep it to quilt on your Solaris. Do you use spray to baste or do you pin baste? Where do you lay everything out? I want to do a small/medium size quilt, but I struggle with how to get it all put together to quilt. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Pat!

Loved the dark teal. I don't do so well with the Olfa Splash cutter. I like the Olfa with the ergonomic squeeze handle better. I recently bought the Quilters Select and really like the weight and feel of it. Still getting used to it and not leaving it open requires an extra bump, but I'm getting the hang of it. Thank you.

I took my cut off half square triangles and made smaller pin wheels with them. I ended up with 8 61/2 inch pinwheels. Sewn together they will be 48 inches long. I also stiched the strips together in a piano key fashion. Their length totaled 60 inches. I plan on using both of these for the back of the quilt. I am thinking I will put some sashing between the pinwheels to stretch out the length and place the piano keys above the pinwheels in the top third of the backing. I have not decided how to quilt it yet either. I am leaning towards the wave stitch so I was happy to hear you say that. I have a question though. Do you do a crosshatch wave or do you do just one direction? Looking forward to watching your progress and help me carry on with your great ideas

Good morning from windy windy Kansas. I was really rooting for the green pinwheels, but seeing the teal I like it very much too! I do think I would flip that top-left block, though, so that the yellow of your border fabric isn't up against the yellow strip? Just a thought . . . Veron

Such fun watching your process. I noticed you have some duplicate vertical plaids near each other - two greens on one side, two yellows on another side. If you’ve already sewn it together i still think it looks great, I just know you care about these details. 😉

Rain Rain here also but at least it's getting rid of some snow. Hopefully we'll see some green by the end of the month. I just recently bought one of those "Splash" rotary cutters. They were on sale here for $15. The next day I went back for two more because I thought: Hey! Just one blade here in 🇨🇦 🍁 costs almost $50!! I love the endurance blades was well. With the price of blades here, I purchased a blade sharpener. Have you tried one Pat? The teal was my choice as well. Looks great!

I was toying with using more than one tonal print that reads solid for the pinwheels. (Since I can get four 4.5 inch squares from a Layer cake, I can use what I have instead of using yardage.)
