I totally identify with your approach to the lantern block you have to remake! When you mentally feel like you are cruising to the finish line and then there is something extra you have to do it totally throws you off. I have to figure out how to not feel this way about borders. It is why I rarely do complex pieced borders. Once the “meat” of the quilt is done, I want to put it together and be done. Maybe I should try to do the pieced borders before I sew the blocks? Hmmm, might have to try that. I need that jelly roll book! Those quilts are sooo cute, and a sampler project will be fun. RE the number of strips in a roll, I find that even the big fabric manufacturers don’t always use the same number of strips. Some are 42, some are 40, and some do half rolls but that isn’t always clear when you purchase so you definitely have to pay attention!

Like the black light idea! Summer quilt along is going to be so pretty; think I salvaged a jelly roll. Today's visit was fun. Thank you Pat Sloan, catch you online next time! Have a great afternoon. Our youngest granddaughter graduates HS tonight.

I recently bought a mini Oliso to replace one that was recalled. I LOVE it!! So easy to use, easy to fill, good quantity of steam, very hot and it even has a light that comes on when you start to press! It is now my "Go To" iron!

Pat, thanks for showing us the wonders of using the black light with white on white fabric (which is a favorite of mine.) Using your link, I have it ordered along with a 3-yard quilt book! I am excited about the Simply Jelly Ross sampler sew-along--I bought my book when you first mentioned it. Now to sort through my many, many jelly rolls to decide what to use.

Thank you for showing your project page and how to find things! I am planning to join you on some projects you talk about, and go to the page, but I wasn’t scrolling down far enough to actually find the related information needed to join and begin. Thank you, thank you! Love the way your lantern quilt is looking. I love the pretzel quilt in the jelly roll book! Enjoyed the video replay today!

Blacklight!! Oh my goodness! I wish I had know this earlier. I used a tone on tone with my Aurifil Spools quilt and I struggled. I had to pick out a few pieces. I do have a blacklight flashlight. I carry it in my pocketbook. It shows how clean or dirty hotel bathroom are!

I don't have a car quilt but I made a Racing T-Shirt Quilt for my daughter-in-law a few years ago. She and her Dad were racing fans, and sometimes he raced on the smaller local tracks. Unfortunately he passed from an aggressive cancer in his 50's. She helped me make the quilt for her Mom, and we still have enough t-shirts to make her a quilt also. The Tula iron is so cute!

Quick question. I clicked on the link to purchase the Simply Jelly Rolls Book, but once I was in the fat quarter shop there was no way to tell if I was still on your link and if your shop got the credit. If I open fat quarter shop with your link and do not leave the shop does everything I order give you credit? TIA

I have wondered this too, and I think the answer is 'yes,' but sometimes when I'm shopping I open other tabs and I didn't know if that was taking me out of Pat's link. I've wondered this about Amazon shopping too because sometimes I put things in my cart and then go open Pat's link. Great question!

How do you deal with all the lint in a newly opened jelly roll? Help, help!
@shellyholt82895 ай бұрын
Before you u roll it, run a lint brush or lint roller over the cut sides of the jelly roll several times. Helps with all the lint. Pat showed us awhile ago.
