I’m glad you talked about donating a quilt and how it’s going to be used….. we also have a similar issue with those quilts we give to friends and family….. I gave a quilt to a friend of my daughter and a couple years later, saw it in the bottom of her dogs kennel. It hurt my feelings but I gave it freely and it was her decision to use it as she desired.

I donated, probably my most favorite children's quilt, I ever made that I was told would go to a grieving child. I later learned it was used in a fund raising event. I'm still unhappy for this because the amount they raised was too low. Lesson learned.

Hi!! I just made a dachshund quilt that I’m donating to the Canadian Dachshund rescue Ontario for a Valentine’s Day auction so great advice!! Also I much prefer the new set up and lighting. Maybe just consider shutting off the monitors? I find the video much more cozy with this lighting!!!

Your new setup looks great! Great donation amount for World Central Kitchen--very nice of you to donate your commissions as well as friends purchasing. I had a Snow Weekend--Sew Weekend with all the snow we got in Kansas this past weekend. I'm looking forward to digging into Tula's 100 Blocks QAL with you.

Your new look is looking good! Thanks for the talk about giving. When I donate to charity, I know that the quilt will benefit someone somehow, so no problem. But when I make one for a person, I have to do a lot of self-talk about how, once it's given, it's theirs. Some people won't sufficiently (as I feel) appreciate the love and labor I put into a quilt: lots of self-talk needed here!😄 You are wonderfully you! And that's wonderful.

I'm wondering whether there is a suitable light that could be attached onto the wall above the quilt on the wall to replace the current big light ? There must be some that can swivel outwards when needed and the fold against the wall when you are not using it. A job for Greg to research ? I like the new arrangement .

Donation quilt: check State laws. I was part of a group that raffled a quilt for one nonprofit. When it was questioned who owned the quilt, I checked state law. The quilt belonged to the quilters who sold the tickets until the day of the drawing. Day of drawing the quilt was turned over to the organization and then to the winner.

Maybe you could change the light for the ring lights that I see a lot of people use for filming. We have them in our offices for video conferences and they are smaller and not so bulky. Not sure if they would work for you, but you could try one and if you need it, add a second one.
@PatSloan4 сағат бұрын
i have tried them in the past and they make rings on my glasses. My video camera is up high, not like you looking into your phone or monitor. there are zillions of ways i can address this, if i feel like it. I have had to work on lighting here for 20 years of filming. i change it each time i have to move my equipment around

Room rearrangement looks nice. Oh! Quite a few years ago I was going to do this quilt. There was no "key" to tell you which block went where on the 100 block rainbow one. So, i had used Excell, made a grid and filled it in by block number and also made a separate file for the colorization with block numbers. I'll have to find it and email you .pdfs of it.

Good morning from a chilly 37° Friendswood TX!! Change is good. I would like to change up my sewing room too. However I have 3 walls that can’t be used except for what they are: a French door entry, a complete wall of windows and a wall of built in bookshelves. So I’m pretty much stuck with my layout. I think if I could move out my big quilt boxes (the ones like your blue ones) it wouldn’t feel so crowded and closed in. A big project to be tackled later this month I hope. Thank you for your informative videos and advice.

Pat . . .I did block one of 100 blocks, it worked beautifully. Block two was a little smaller. Then I tried block five and it was exactly one half inch smaller. I believe the small strips are incorrect measurement. I am sewing by hand.
