I love how you verbalize your thought process. It helps me because I can’t decide and then I don’t continue the project. You decide and move on-I need to take a lesson from you. Thanks for showing me that it will turn out great whichever way I decide- just do it!! I watch you everyday and love your attitude toward creativity and quilting. Sheri

The thinking out loud and musing about what to do is my favorite part of the videos. Listening to the decision process has helped me open up my thinking about fabric choices and modifying patterns.

The corner crumbs or even the regular fabric look like fishes. Put an eye and dot for a mouth, and it’s a fish! Cute for a baby or child quilt.

I make pie crust from America’s Test Kitchen recipe. They have you put your butter in the freezer. Also, you use vodka & water & put it in the freezer. Makes a delish flaky crust.

I was not a believer when you chose the purple. But now that you have it in progress I see it's an excellent choice. Thanks for all you do to keep us motivated. And... 120 quilts this year?!? WOW! that's a lot! And I don't doubt that you'll do it all.

When I was a child living at home on my birthday I got to pick what kind of cake I wanted. I always passed on the cake and requested peach pie. And my mother always got peach pie for me from the bakery.

My grandparents would take a break during the heat of the day and read various sections of Reader's Digest outloud. Especially the vocabulary words. I loved hearing them read. Early mornings they were outside gardening or gathering up the eggs from the coop. Then watering everything on a rotation basis, or drip system with our arid climate. I wasn't old enough to attend school, so I learned a great deal from following them around the yard, and the garden.

My favorite pie is also Cherry...I really love when I can get fresh Bing Cherries and cook them down and make a homemade filling. The crust is absolutely the most important part of any pie...it has to be flaky, buttery and have a thick rim so I can pick it off. I remember making lard pie crust with my grandmother and using the leftover pie crust and cutting them up and sprinkling cinnamon and sugar on them and baking them for a snack. What great memories!!!

Hi. I love the moon stone block. That fabric is gorgeous. Your purple crumb blocks came out so beautiful. I couldn't envision it with the purple but wow it looks so good. I have eight crumb blocks so far. I wasn't sure what I would do with them but you've given me some ideas. Pie. Pie. It would be easier for me to say what pie I don't like...cherry, which just happens to be my husband's favorite.

Pie is my favorite sweet! Love apple, cherry (which will be made on Feb. 22 as always, for George Washington's birthday), lemon cream, coconut cream, triple berry (blueberry, raspberry and blackberry), raspberry, fresh strawberry with heaps of fresh whipped cream, derby, lemon chess, my mom's 'nut pie', key lime, chocolate cream, french silk, pumpkin, sweet potato, blackberry, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry, french apple, and so many more that I admittedly don't make as often. And of course, the crust makes the pie.
@jennystrahley9272 жыл бұрын
Love your Moonstone blocks! And I agree with others, the purple crumb blocks are gorgeous. I shall be copying that idea when my stash turns into crumb blocks. Thanks for your inspiration! My favorite pie is chocolate pecan pie...and I too think the crust is the best part!

I love how the purple makes the crumb blocks pop! It looks beautiful! My favorite pie is Rhubarb Crumb, recipe is from my former neighbor's Grandma. My pie crust recipe is from my Aunt Marcie, using vinegar, egg and Crisco. I always thought my Dad was crazy when he said he could tell a homemade crust, well guess what, I can now too!! The crust recipe is from his older sister. I don't make as many pies as I used to.

I really enjoyed your thought process regarding switching fabrics! I am new to your channel and just starting Sweet Dreams, but I thought I would share that pie is my favorite dessert. I love to make hand pies because you can pair tiny amounts of two flavors together with lots of dough! LOL This past Monday I made heart shaped hand pies that paired Nutella and Raspberry Coulis. They were a big hit at my a cappella chorus rehearsal that night. ❤️❤️❤️
