All the fabrics are beautiful! With the last fabric, I would go for the maxi version. You could use it later for a wedding or a fancy dinner. I can understand wanting multiple white garments, especially tops. They are so classy and always look great. That white poplin looks perfect for a shirtdress. I know you are not a fan of slips, but maybe consider making a simple white slip out of a cotton batiste or some other light fabric. I have plans to make some for myself, because I do wear my store-bought slips a lot and want to upgrade them.
@cookeka7 ай бұрын
Thank you!! Although I am not a fan of slips, I like your suggestion of a light shell that would work well with these transparent garments. I will be making myself one soon. I will truck myself into believing it's not a slip😁 Yes, white is such a classic piece in both shirts and dresses.

Cassandra, that is great news!!! I am happy you completed your button up shirt. Unfortunately, you and I are in the same boat, we hate to do buttons and button holes but I can tell you once you realize you have to do them, you will. Clothing that makes you feel beautiful can and should be worn, at home around the house if nothing else. But wear the things that delight your heart while doing errands! And when folx ask why, explain why it was created. It’s okay to say „I love creating my own clothing…“ and going from there.
@cookeka7 ай бұрын
It's interesting because I sometimes don't dress or wear the stuff I make because I look to dressed up and might get questions. I an slowly stepping away from that and no longer want to hide my clothes or talent due to fear. At home I settle for the same set of slacks and top🫣

😂 I don’t think you like blazers, I think you love blazers! Rather than cut patterns, I began long ago to trace them onto butcher paper so I could have the pattern available should I need to make it from another size. Plus, the copy I make I keep in Manila envelopes with the pattern number, style, date, measurements and number of pattern pieces. Then I can make notes on it as the pattern is worn like „make pockets bigger!“ for when I make it again. BTW I’ve been sewing over fifty years and you make better blazers than I!!
@cookeka7 ай бұрын
Yes, I am afraid you are right about blazers😁 I love them. That's a great idea or method to stare patterns but I am afraid of more work but might have to try because it makes so much more sense. I love the organizational piece and detail information that is captured using this method. Thank you.
