Lovely plans. I made it earlier this year and made front same length as back as it was very cropped and just put bias binding around the bottom so I could keep a slight gap at side. 😊

Hi girls, can't wait to see your Kalle's💖... I'm a big fan of it and have made three of the short versions, one covered plaquette, one short plaquette and one with sleeves using the add on. I lengthened the front and back by two inches, which I'm much happier with and I'm only five three, so you might want to do that if not wearing it with a very high waist 👍. It would be difficult to tuck in if you used the facing...think it might be a bit bulky. Best of luck with them...hope you like them as much as I do 😁💕😘

I have made the Kalle as a top and as a dress. For the cropped top it's essential that you check the length before cutting it out because although I normally shorten bodice lengths by at least an inch, I had to lengthen the cropped length by about 2 inches) to make it wearable. Also for Lisa who is thinking about tucking in the top, it would be too thick with the curved hem facing to tuck in. But I will also say that you may be surprised at how nice the top looks worn out of a skirt if it is the right length. The curved hem is quite flattering. I really like mine paired with skirts and trousers that fit at the natural waist. The dress length is also quite short so again check that before cutting. There's a good sewalong on the Closet Case Patterns blog if you need more details about anything. I look forward to seeing all your versions! It's going to make me want to sew a new version for Autumn!
